Job summary

METAL CRAFT, located in Elk River, MN, is a precision machining company seeking a FINISHER for our DEBURRING department. The ideal candidate is passionate about quality, service, and innovation.

The Finisher will perform deburring, polishing, washing, assembling, bead blasting, and visual inspection to meet customer finishes. Responsibilities include reading setup sheets, operating vibratory tumblers and bead blast systems, and improving setup efficiency.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1-2 years manufacturing experience preferred.
• Deburring/finishing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Examine cleaned objects to ensure conformance to standards.
• Use hand tools such as deburring knives, chamfer tools, sheet sandpaper, and files to finish parts.
• Operate vibratory finishing machines to tumble parts.
• Operate bead blast systems.
• Pull setup sheets to complete parts.
• Obtain first piece and move forward on completing a job.
• Develop knowledge to edit setup sheets to improve efficiencies.
• Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

The FINISHER will perform various functions such as deburring, polishing, washing, assembling, bead blasting, and visualizing to ensure customer required finishes. This role will pull set up sheets, run vibratory tumblers, bead blast, hand finish, and straighten parts.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but not limited to:

• Examine cleaned objects to ensure conformance to standardsss.
• Use hand tools such as deburring knives, chamfer tools, sheet sandpaper, and files to finish parts.
• Operate and use vibratory finishing machines to tumble parts.
• Operate and use bead blast blasting systems.
• Able to pull set up sheets to complete parts.
• Obtain first piece and move forward on completing a job.
• Develop knowledge to be able to make edits to the set-up sheets to improve efficiencies.
• Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1-2 years of manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Deburring/finishing experience preferred

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

• Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Strong ability to multi-task, prioritize and adapt to shifting priorities.
• Exceptional problem solving and decision-making skills and the ability to think independently.
• Must pay attention to detail.
• Ability to read blueprints and use hand tools is a plus.
• Must be able to work in other areas on an as needed basis.
• Show initiative in work by being a self-starter, suggesting new ideas for completing a job, giving input as to how to improve the efficiency of a job, and organizing work time in order to complete jobs in a timely matter.

2nd shift: Monday-Thursday 3:30pm to 2:00am + overtime as needed

Base pay + 15% shift pay
