Job summary

Heico is seeking a Finisher/Deburrer to perform final finish operations on aluminum chassis and cold plates for aerospace manufacturing. The role requires careful attention to detail, adherence to safety, and the ability to follow travelers and document activity in ERP systems.

A high school diploma and manufacturing experience are preferred, with training on Dynabrade tooling available. The position offers a climate-controlled facility, competitive benefits, and opportunities for career growth

Qualifications

• Read internal drawings and use basic measuring equipment.
• Autobody finishing experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with non-electric hand tools preferred.
• Experience finishing aluminum with pneumatic tooling (e.g., Dynabrade) preferred.
• Previous manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform final finish operation using pneumatic tooling to produce a consistent finish on aluminum chassis and cold plates.
• 100% inspect work pieces for cosmetic appearance and obvious non-conformities.
• Install various hardware components per specifications or direction from manager.
• Follow Job Travelers for routing steps and log activity in ERP for time and piece count.
• Maintain traceability of parts and work orders as they move through finishing.
• Clean work areas and equipment to keep a safe, clean environment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Finisher/Deburrer will be responsible for the deburring and finish operations on of aluminum chassis and cold plates for the Aerospace and Defense industries. This is a critical role within the Assembly team and requires a detailed mind set. This role reports directly to the Manufacturing Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Strive towards a culture of proactive safety.
• Perform final finish operation using pneumatic tooling to produce consistent finish on alumnium chassis and cold plates.
• 100% inspects work pieces for cosmetic appearance and obvious non-conformities.
• Installation of various components of hardware per specifications or direction from manager.
• Follow Job Travelers for specific routing steps to be performed. Logging activity in ERP system for time and piece count tracking requirements.
• Maintain traceability of parts and work orders as parts move through finishing.
• Cleans work areas, or equipment, to maintain a clean and safe work area as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma, or General Education Degree (GED).
• Autobody finishing experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with using non-electric hand tools preferred.
• Experience with finishing alumnium using pneumatic tooling (i.e. Dynabrade) preferred.
• Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to read internal drawings and use basic measuring equipment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the work shift.
• Ability to frequently use hands and fingers to operate machine controls, tools, and measuring instruments.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and components weighing up to 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach as required to load, unload, and inspect parts and equipment.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions involving the hands, wrists, and arms.
• Ability to visually inspect parts, interpret and read blueprints, technical drawings, work instructions, and use gauges, and measuring devices.
• Ability to distinguish colors, dimensions, and surface defects when performing quality inspections.
• Ability to hear and communicate effectively in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to safely operate equipment in a fast-paced production setting while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes, and other equipment as required.
• Ability to work in an environment with exposure to machine noise, metal chips, cutting fluids, lubricants, and varying temperatures.
• Ability to maintain regular attendance and work scheduled shifts, including overtime as required.
• Manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical equipment.
• Frequent interaction with machine tools, raw materials, and finished products.
• Compliance with all company safety policies, housekeeping requirements, and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention practices.
• Required use of appropriate PPE and adherence to all safety procedures.
