PositionOverview
The MillworkFinisher is responsible for preparing, finishing, and detailing wood productsthrough staining, painting, sealing, and other finishing techniques. This rolerequires a keen eye for detail, strong craftsmanship, and knowledge offinishing materials and processes to achieve consistent, high-quality results.
KeyResponsibilities
- Prepare wood surfaces for finishing through sanding,filling, and repairing defects.
- Apply stains, sealers, paints, lacquers, and topcoatsusing spray equipment, brushes, or other tools.
- Match colors and finishes to client specificationsand approved samples.
- Inspect finished products for quality, consistency,and adherence to project requirements.
- Mix and prepare finishing materials, ensuring properviscosity and application.
- Maintain finishing equipment and spray booths,performing cleaning and minor repairs as needed.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean,organized work environment.
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure projectdeadlines and quality standards are met.
Requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technicaltraining in woodworking or finishing preferred.
- 2+ years of experience as a wood finisher, preferablyin millwork, cabinetry, or furniture.
- Knowledge of wood species, stains, paints, sealers,and finishing techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders,specifications, and color samples.
- Experience with spray finishing equipment and propermaterial handling.
- Strong attention to detail, craftsmanship, andquality control.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a teamin a fast-paced shop environment.
- Precision, patience, and strong visual judgment forcolor and texture.
- Hands-on technical skill with finishing tools andequipment.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
