Job summary

Christman Southeast Constructors is seeking a Finisher in the Knoxville, TN area to smooth and finish concrete surfaces and help set up forms for various projects. The role requires operating hand and power tools, maintaining site safety, and supporting related carpentry tasks as needed.

Applicants should have at least two years of concrete construction experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to work extended hours and travel to project sites. OSHA 10 certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes required tools to complete tasks.
• Arranges and constructs concrete forms.
• Loads, transports, and unloads tools, equipment, and supplies for each project.
• Observes and complies with safety policies and procedures.
• Assists with related carpentry tasks as required.
• Ensures quality of work meets company standards.
• Keeps working area clean and uses tools per procedures.

What You Will Do:

As a Finisher, your primary daily responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

• Smooths and finishes surfaces of poured concrete on floors, slabs, elevated slabs, and site work
• Spreads concrete to a specified depth and workable consistency.
• Levels and shapes concrete, and finishes freshly poured concrete at project or job sites.
• Utilizes required tools to complete required tasks.
• Arranges and constructs concrete forms.
• Loads, transports, and unloads tools, equipment, and supplies required for each project.
• Responsible for observing and complying with all safety policies and procedures.
• Assists with related carpentry tasks, as required.
• Ensures quality of work meets company standards.
• Keeps immediate working area clean. Must use required tools and follow material procedures.

Expected Hours of Work and Travel:

Full time position, occasional extended hours and weekends may apply. Must have reliable transportation. Must be willing to travel 60 miles a day dependent on project location relative to where the employee lives.

What You Will Bring to the Team:

Preferred experience, knowledge, and skills for this role include:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• OSHA 10 hour certification.

• Must pass any skills tests as required by the jobsite.

• Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
• Must be able to tolerate heights without fear.
• Must have own hand tools, power tools to be provided by Christman.
