Job summary

BD is seeking a Quality Inspector at our El Paso site to uphold finished goods quality and regulatory compliance. You will perform inspections, support product releases, and maintain GDP and document control.

This role emphasizes accuracy, adherence to cGMP, and collaboration with Quality leadership to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement. On-site position with exposure to a manufacturing environment and safety procedures.

Qualifications

  • Minimum High School / GED or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing, Inspection, or a regulated production environment.
  • Experience performing inspections and reviewing manufacturing documentation.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections of finished products according to approved procedures and specifications.
  • Conduct sampling activities in accordance with established sampling plans.
  • Verify product labeling, packaging configuration, lot traceability, and product identification requirements.
  • Inspect finished goods for defects, nonconformances, and compliance with quality standards.
  • Document inspection results accurately and completely.
  • Support finished goods release activities by ensuring all required documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Verify that production records, inspection records, and testing results meet release requirements.
  • Review batch records, Device History Records (DHRs), and supporting quality documentation as applicable.
  • Escalate discrepancies or compliance concerns to Quality leadership.
  • Maintain accurate records following Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • Enter inspection and quality data into electronic systems.
  • Support nonconformance, deviation, and CAPA investigations by gathering information and documenting findings.
  • Maintain inspection logs, sampling records, and quality reports.
  • Adhere to FDA regulations, cGMP requirements, BD Quality Systems, and site procedures.
  • Support internal audits, external audits, and regulatory inspections.
  • Ensure inspection areas and documentation remain audit-ready.
  • Follow all data integrity and record retention requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve inspection processes and product quality.
  • Participate in root cause investigations and quality improvement projects.
  • Support initiatives focused on reducing defects, improving compliance, and strengthening the quality culture.
  • Recommend improvements to procedures and inspection methods.
  • Follow all Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) requirements and company policies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods (typically up to 6–8 hours per shift) while performing inspections and sampling activities.
  • Ability to visually inspect finished products for extended durations, requiring sustained attention to detail.
  • Occasional bending, twisting, reaching, and squatting to access product, inspection areas, or storage locations.
  • May be required to lift, carry, push, or pull materials or product samples, typically up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing or warehouse environment with exposure to noise, moving equipment, and varying temperatures.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Regular use of computers and electronic systems, requiring repetitive motion (keyboard/mouse use) and visual focus on screens.
  • Ability to perform tasks that require fine motor skills, such as labeling verification, measurement checks, and handling of inspection tools.
