Community Asphalt, founded in 1980 as an asphalt paving contractor, based in Miami, Florida, andpart of OHLA USA since 2006, has since become specialized in general road construction and transportation infrastructure. From its four operation and plant facilities in Miami-Dade, Fort Myers, Vero Beach and West Palm Beach, the company boasts extensive geographic coverage throughout South Florida, focusing on all aspects of transportation infrastructure development, primarily for state and local authorities. Community Asphalt continues to provide traditional paving services which include grading and paving, pavement milling, surveying, excavation, on and off-road hauling, drainage, utilities, base finishing, and highway sweeping. Summary

Our company has an immediate opening for aFinish Dozer Operator, ConstructioninWest Palm Beach, Fl. The Finish Dozer Operator, Constructionwill be responsible for operating bulldozers to perform precise grading and finishing tasks as part of our construction projects. This role requires a deep understanding of reading and interpreting plans, cross-sections, elevations, and grades to meet the specific requirements of our projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate bulldozer and other heavy machinery to perform fine grading and finishing operations.
• Read, interpret, and execute plans, cross-sections, and elevation drawings accurately.
• Adjust equipment and machinery settings according to the specifics of the task and site conditions.
• Use GPS and other grade control systems to guide machinery for precision grading. Not required - Can Train.
• Collaborate with other construction staff and project managers to ensure specifications are met.
• Regularly inspect machines and perform basic maintenance to ensure operational efficiency.
• Adhere to safety protocols and standards to prevent accidents and injuries on site.
• Provide timely updates on task completion and report any issues with equipment or project execution.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Proven experience as a Finish Dozer Operatorin construction.
• Strong ability to read and understand construction plans, cross-sections, and related documents.
• Familiarity with GPS and laser-guided equipment for precision grading. .
• Knowledge of different types of bulldozer blades and attachments and their applications.
• Excellent understanding of elevations, grades, and the implications for finishing work.
• Commitment to maintaining high safety standards on the job site.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

Education, Experience and/or Work Environment

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5years of experience operating dozersand other heavy machinery in a construction setting.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and adapt to changing site conditions.
• Must be able to pass a background, drug and physical test.
• Schedule: 7am-5pm but can vary with overnight and/or weekends.

Language Skills

• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate with employeesand supervisors.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as plans, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.

Physical Demands
