Job summary

Hickory Construction, Inc. is seeking a skilled Carpenter with strong trim and finish carpentry experience for our field team in the Knoxville, TN area. This full-time role emphasizes craftsmanship, reliability, and a commitment to building with care.

You will work on site with project managers and supervisors, maintaining schedules while upholding safety and quality standards across both interior and exterior projects. A valid driver's license and a professional tool set are required.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of carpentry experience in residential or commercial construction.
Ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints.
Strong trim and finish carpentry skills with attention to detail.
Own a professional set of carpentry tools and have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

Be a full-time daily presence on the jobsite and support the project team.
Communicate with Project Managers and Supervisors to align schedules.
Uphold safety policies and ensure safe conditions for workers and visitors.
Collaborate with the project team to prevent rework and ensure quality.
Provide timely feedback on field conditions, material needs and schedule issues.
Maintain inventory and coordinate procurement of materials.
Document purchases, receipts, and jobsite records accurately.
Perform carpentry tasks from foundations to finish trim interiors/exteriors.
Assist with mockups, layouts, and layout work to 1/16" tolerance.
