As a critical component of the credit union's corporate social responsibility goals, the Financial Wellness Educator leads the development and execution of financial education programming designed to improve the financial well-being of our members and stakeholders. This position works strategically with internal and external partners to develop and execute educational programming and resources to educate and empower individuals to improve their financial well-being. They develop and deliver quality group education to diverse audiences including economically vulnerable populations receiving services from partner nonprofits, university students, and credit union members. They also oversee the development and execution of in-person and virtual trainings, workshops and webinars on a variety of topics to improve financial wellness such as: budget planning, establishing and maintaining credit, identity theft prevention and other personal finance topics.
What you will do here:
Develop, adapt, and deliver engaging, relevant, and accessible financial education programming for diverse audiences, both in person and virtually. Delivers exceptionally impactful and effective instruction that leads to practical learning. Evaluate existing and new financial education materials, vendors and programs through research, surveys, and analysis of trends to ensure content is relevant, competitive, and current.
Develop, mentor and collaborate with peer educators (financial well-being education committee) to develop group financial education best practices, coordination, and impact tracking and reporting across the credit union, enabling consistently exception financial education experiences for members and the community.
In partnership with internal and external stakeholders, identify and implement strategies to proactively grow the program through a variety of delivery channels with both new and existing audiences.
Support the application process and execution of Desert Financial Foundation’s employee emergency assistance fund in conjunction with the Sr. Financial Wellness Educator and the Team Member Review Committee. Support applicants by providing individual resource support and information about community and employer resources.
Maintain a high-level level of expertise about financial education, service delivery best practices, research findings, culture of poverty issues and other areas of knowledge necessary to ensure the highest level of education and coaching excellence; share expertise with other Social Responsibility & Foundation staff.
Develop and implement tracking and reporting mechanisms to measure the success and outcomes of the program.

What you will need:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Bachelor's in Education, Finance or related field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
5+ years of experience developing and/or delivering workshops or classroom education required.
2+ years of experience supervising or working collaboratively with diverse teams required.
1+ years developing digital content and webinar facilitation preferred
Excellent written and verbal communications skills; ability to facilitate successful partnerships; previous Public Speaking experience; ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences; ability to communicate with diverse audiences effectively required.
Previous experience and advanced expertise with design, development, delivery and evaluation of an adult or youth education model required.
Demonstrates extensive knowledge of personal finance, financial coaching/counseling techniques and best practices, and passion for financial well-being and education required.
Effective time and work management of multiple priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail and meeting deadlines required.
Demonstrated ability to influence peers, groups and leaders, lead and develop team members, and maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality required.
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office and Airtable, as well as exposure to financial literacy vendors preferred.
Bilingual in Spanish-English preferred.
Valid Arizona driver license. Motor vehicle record will be screened and the incumbent must meet Company guidelines required.
Certified Financial Education Instructor preferred.
Accredited Financial Counselor preferred.
