Role Overview

The Financial Systems Specialist serves as a pivotal member of the financial systems team, facilitating the digital transformation of financial functions to support the Controllership's vision. Responsibilities include partnering with business teams to uncover innovation opportunities, designing clear business requirements in collaboration with IT, implementing solutions, and providing ongoing support for the financial platform.

Essential Functions

• Develop proficient knowledge of ACA’s Workday Implementation (Financials Core, Prism, Reporting, Accounting Center and Adaptive Planning).
• Construct clear and detailed business requirements for IT development and Finance Systems teams.
• Provide day‑to‑day support to business users of the Financial Systems Platform.
• Possess knowledge of ACA’s data warehouse and processes.
• Resolve data‑related issues, obtaining clarification from relevant Controllership team owners, and correcting or developing alternative solutions.
• Maintain a passion for data integrity.
• Configure, test, and implement configuration changes in Financial Systems.
• Design, develop, test, and implement modifications to integration programs as needed.
• Lead small projects using Agile methodology.
• Examine data sources through interviews and analysis.
• Partner with business teams to update policies and procedures.
• Curate supporting documentation to ensure clarity and usability for business users and units.
• Work within deadlines to produce a high-quality data product with emphasis on completeness and accuracy.
• Identify and elevate data integrity concerns and participate in remediation projects as required.
• Collaborate with third‑party vendors.
• Other tasks as deemed necessary.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with minimum 3.0 GPA in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Proficient skills in database systems (SQL) and financial systems (Power BI).
• Strong understanding of finance and accounting principles.
• Self‑motivated, team player, highly organized.
• Attention to detail and accuracy of facts and documentation.
• Ability to problem‑solve and follow through on tasks.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).

Preferred Qualifications

• A blended education in both financial services and information systems.
• Experience with day‑to‑day usage in Workday for and not limited to:
• Job Change templates
• Creating positions
• Managing delegations
• Business process approvals, corrections, and re‑routing
• Supervisory orgs, locations
• Integrations of data from third‑party vendors and or bank
• Creation of spend categories and general ledger accounts
• Strong troubleshooting skills: review reported issues and identify root causes within the system using in‑house troubleshooting documentation.
• Recruiting process knowledge (business processes, posting issues, approval routing)
• Some IT and financial systems experience.

Nice to Have

• Understanding of Workday EIBs (Enterprise Interface Builder).
• Understanding of Workday reporting: filters, data connections, and system mapping.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
