Job summary

CLA is seeking a Financial Services Tax Principal to lead engagements for banks, insurers, investment funds, and specialty finance entities. You will drive client advisory, service advocacy, and leadership within the Financial Services Group in Des Moines.

You will mentor staff, review engagements, and stay current on tax law changes while expanding the firm's national tax practice. Equity in compensation and career growth are emphasized at CLA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's in accounting, Taxation or related field.
• Current CPA licensure required (JD or EA may be accepted in lieu of CPA).
• 10+ years of public accounting experience in a tax role.
• Deep understanding of tax issues affecting banks, insurance companies, investment funds, and specialty finance entities.

Responsibilities

• Lead tax engagements for financial services clients including banks, insurers, investment funds and specialty finance entities.
• Become part of leadership to grow the tax practice nationally and mentor the team.
• Review and sign engagement letters, discuss terms with clients and staff, and approve fees.
• Keep current on tax law changes and demonstrate commitment to the firm.
