Job summary

Teachers Federal Credit Union is seeking a Financial Services Representative II in Hauppauge, NY. You will build and strengthen member relationships, guide customers to online and mobile banking, and support transactions in person or remotely.

The role requires 1+ year of branch experience, a high school diploma or GED (Bachelor’s in Business considered in lieu of experience), and notary eligibility within six months. A focus on service, sales, and product knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

  • High School degree or GED required; Bachelor’s in Business in lieu of experience will be considered.
  • Minimum one-year branch experience required.
  • Minimum two years of general work experience, customer service, call center or sales experience required.
  • Commissioned notary or able to obtain notary commission within six months of starting.
  • Banking products, cross-selling, member onboarding, new account openings, retail banking, banking software experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with new and existing members to understand their financial needs and deepen relationships.
  • Processes routine and complex financial transactions for members quickly and accurately (deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, cashier’s checks, IRA) in compliance with regulations.
  • Provides recommendations and assists members with a wide array of financial solutions to meet spending, saving, borrowing, and investing goals.
  • Educate members to bank more efficiently using web, mobile, and ATM.
  • Participate in offsite membership development activities to promote membership.
  • Uncover members’ financial goals and introduce them to internal specialists to help meet goals.
  • Leverage phone and e-mail for regular member outreach, outbound sales, follow-ups, and proactive check-ins.
  • May handle escalated member issues and perform other duties as needed.

Education And/or Experience

Job Responsibilities
  • Works closely with new and existing members to understand their financial needs and deepen relationships

  • Uncover members’ financial goals and introduce members to internal business specialists to help meet their financial goals
  • Leverage phone and e-mail to perform regular member outreach, including outbound sales, follow-ups on pending recommendations and services, and proactive check-ins; maximize the effectiveness of these calls through appropriate planning and prioritization
  • May handle escalated member issues
  • Perform other duties as needed upon request by immediate supervisor
