Financial Services Professional - Advisor

New York Life - Greater DC North Bethesda, Maryland, United States

About this position

Driven to succeed? Build something that lasts.

New York Life has helped individuals, families, and businesses navigate their financial futures through changing markets and generations. You’ll work directly with clients to help them protect what matters most, prepare for life’s opportunities and challenges, and develop strategies designed around the goals they want to achieve.

As a New York Life financial professional, you have the opportunity to do more than build a career—you can build your own financial practice, make a meaningful impact, and create a future driven by your ambition.

And while you’re building something of your own, you’re not building it alone. You’ll have the strength, resources, training, and support of a Fortune 100 company with a history of over 181 years behind you.

If you’re driven, resilient, and ready for a career where your effort can shape your growth, let’s start a conversation.

Build Relationships. Make an Impact. Grow Your Practice.
  • Guide clients through important financial milestones, from developing a plan and putting strategies into action to adapting as their needs and circumstances evolve.

  • Build and grow your own client base through networking, referrals, community involvement, and meaningful professional relationships.

  • Provide personalized financial guidance around key priorities such as retirement planning, protection strategies, education funding, tax diversification, and estate planning.

  • Deliver tailored solutions using a broad range of insurance and financial products aligned with each client’s individual needs and objectives.

  • Become a trusted presence in your community by cultivating relationships and building a personal brand grounded in integrity, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to helping others.

  • Be active in your professional network. Get to know and build relationships with other professionals whose expertise can complement the work you do with clients.

This is an opportunity to build more than a client base—it’s an opportunity to build relationships, develop a reputation, and create a financial practice that can grow with you.

What Sets This Role Apart:

You have the opportunity to build a career and practice that reflects your ambition, strengths, and goals—with the training, resources, and support of New York Life behind you.

  • Control Your Career Path: Build and grow your own practice while creating a career path that can evolve with you. Following the initial training and development period, agents have opportunities to continue building their practices, pursue specialized markets, and even explore leadership opportunities. Where you take your career is up to you.

  • Training & Development: The New York Life training program is a blended learning system with your development in mind. Structured onboarding, licensing support, and comprehensive training designed to help you build a strong foundation. Ongoing coaching, professional development, and opportunities for eligible agents to pursue approved professional credentials help our representatives achieve their career goals.

  • Resources & Tools: Digital, social, web, and email tools can help you expand your reach, strengthen relationships, and grow your practice. In addition to the experience and institutional knowledge of established professionals, proven best practices, and a suite of sales, prospecting, and marketing resources.

  • Broad Product Solutions: Help clients address a wide range of financial needs through solutions offered by New York Life and its subsidiaries, including life insurance, annuities, long-term care insurance, disability income insurance, and investment products such as mutual funds¹ offered through NYLIFE Securities LLC (member FINRA/SIPC), a Licensed Insurance Agency. This breadth allows you to develop strategies tailored to your clients’ goals, priorities, and evolving needs.

  • Multiple Paths for Growth: You can explore specialized paths with the support of established practice models that also help you earn designations through the American College of Financial Services. You can also pursue leadership opportunities or, if qualified, choose a path toward becoming a financial advisor with Eagle Strategies LLC, New York Life’s registered investment adviser, and offer advisory services.²

Your ambition drives the direction. Our training, resources, and support help you build toward it.
