Job summary

Allison Transmission is seeking a Finance professional to support the accuracy, integrity, and timely completion of the company’s financial reporting processes by contributing to period-end close activities, preparing financial statements and segment reporting, maintaining consolidation and reporting systems, and ensuring compliance with US GAAP and internal controls.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 1–3 years of accounting or related financial experience.
• CPA eligible or pursuing CPA.
• Working knowledge of US GAAP and SEC regulations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
• Prepare financial statements and segment reporting.
• Assist with intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
• Maintain consolidation system data validation and mappings.

Job Description:

To support the accuracy, integrity, and timely completion of the company’s financial reporting processes by contributing to period‑end close activities, assisting in the preparation of financial statements and segment reporting, maintaining and validating consolidation and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal control requirements, and supporting the preparation of required SEC disclosures and supporting documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end closing processes and preparation of financial statements and segment reporting to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting


• Coordinate with accounting and finance teams to obtain information required for the close process


• Assist with intercompany accounting and reconciliations, as applicable


• Support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the company’s consolidation system, including assisting with data validation, account mapping, system testing and troubleshooting during close cycles


• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of supporting SEC reporting tables, footnote schedules and disclosure support required for quarterly (10-Q) and annual (10-K) filings


• Assist with implementing and maintaining effective accounting processes and internal controls


• Maintain organized and complete accounting records in accordance with company policies and U.S. GAAP


• Other duties as assigned to support overall department objectives

Key Performance Measures:

• Completes assigned month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities by established deadlines


• Minimal errors or corrections required in reconciliations and reporting schedules

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of intercompany eliminations and other consolidation entries


• Working knowledge of corporate accounting and finance principles, with the ability to apply accounting concepts in a financial reporting environment


• Ability to work independently, multi-task and prioritize work


• Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated commitment to teamwork


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills and the ability to analyze and work with financial data


• Excellent problem-solving abilities to tackle complex and critical issues
  
• Strong communication and influencing skills

Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance


• 1-3 years of accounting or related financial experience.


• CPA eligible or meeting the educational requirements to sit for the CPA exam.


• Working knowledge of US GAAP and applicable SEC regulations


• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment


• Well-developed oral and written communication skillsand analytical abilities


• Experience with SAP, HFM, OneStream or comparable ERP system is a plus
