Responsibilities include drafting sections of Form 10-K/10-Q, coordinating audits, researching US GAAP and SEC guidance, and supporting SOX controls and monthly management reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting and CPA/CPA candidacy are preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

A client of The Intersect Group is seeking a Financial Reporting Analyst to support the preparation and filing of external financial reports and SEC filings while ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with accounting leadership, cross-functional business partners, and external auditors while contributing to critical financial reporting initiatives.

The successful candidate will assist in the preparation of Forms 10-K and 10-Q, financial statement disclosures, and management reporting. This individual will also conduct accounting research, support compliance initiatives, and help drive accurate, timely, and transparent financial reporting across the organization. The position is ideal for an accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys balancing technical accounting responsibilities with collaborative project work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and draft portions of Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and other SEC filings, including financial statements, footnotes, and Management's Discussion & Analysis (MD&A).
  • Collaborate with accounting, finance, and operational teams to gather information and develop accurate disclosures and reporting content.
  • Assist in coordinating audit requests and supporting communications with external auditors.
  • Research and analyze U.S. GAAP accounting standards, SEC regulations, and emerging accounting guidance.
  • Participate in the implementation of new FASB pronouncements and SEC reporting requirements.
  • Support the preparation of monthly management reports, debt compliance reporting, and other internal financial analyses.
  • Assist with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance efforts and financial reporting controls.
  • Perform ad hoc accounting, reporting, and financial analysis projects as assigned.
Key Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • 3-5 years of experience in public accounting, SEC reporting, financial reporting, or a related accounting function.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial statement preparation; SEC reporting experience is highly preferred.
  • CPA license or active CPA candidate strongly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel with strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
  • Experience researching and applying accounting pronouncements, regulatory guidance, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and maintain exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
