GM Performance Power Units in Concord, NC is seeking a Financial Regulations Analyst to support Cost Cap reporting, audits, and regulatory submissions. The role requires strong accounting fundamentals, ERP experience, and data analysis skills across large datasets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• 3+ years' experience in audit, internal audit, or a controls/compliance-focused finance role; external audit preferred.
• Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA) held or in progress preferred.
• Strong accounting fundamentals under US GAAP and/or IFRS, including journal preparation, month-end close and reconciliation discipline.
• Hands-on experience with an ERP / financial system such as SAP, Oracle, IFS or Microsoft D365.
• Demonstrated experience in document control and audit evidence management: version control, retention, approval trails and audit-ready file structures.
• Advanced Excel skills and ability to analyze large datasets; Power Query, Power BI, SQL or Python desirable.
• Experience building financial models for scenario testing, cost optimization and allocation analysis.
• Ability to interpret detailed rules or regulations and explain them clearly.
• High attention to detail and strong quality control over own work.
• Clear, concise written communication, particularly regulator-facing material.
• Organized and deadline-driven with the ability to manage multiple reporting cycles.

Responsibilities

• Review accounting transactions for Cost Cap treatment and prepare Cost Cap journals, accruals and adjustments in the ERP during monthly close.
• Own Cost Cap evidence retention and document control: maintaining version-controlled schedules, source documentation, approval trials and audit-ready file.

• Prepare Cost Cap reporting schedules, workpapers and other regulatory submissions, including full year and interim reporting.
• Support Cost Cap reviews, Agreed Upon Procedures and external / FIA audits: prepare schedules, track open items and close items.
• Draft responses to FIA queries and clarification requests for the Financial Regulations Manager’s review.
• Support firm-wide Cost Cap Q&A, deliver training and keep guidance current as regulations change.
• Build and maintain data analysis and optimization models to test Cost Cap outcomes and cost allocations.
• Extract, cleanse and analyze large datasets from ERP to test cost classification and identify anomalies.
• Assist with year-to-go forecasts and multi-year Cost Cap budgets in partnership with FP&A.
• Identify and document control gaps in Cost Cap processes and support remediation.

Financial Regulations Analyst - Onsite

Job Summary

GM Performance Power Units is seeking a Financial Regulations Analyst to support all reporting, audit and compliance activities under the FIA Financial Regulations (Power Unit Manufacturer). Reporting to the Financial Regulations Manager, the role is hands-on: reviewing accounting transactions and proposing Cost Cap journals, owning Cost Cap evidence retention and document control, reconciling large volumes of financial and operational data with Cost Cap reporting, preparing Cost Cap reporting and other submissions, supporting Cost Cap reviews and external audits, supporting firm-wide Cost Cap Q&A, training and guidance updates, and supporting the wider Finance team building the data analysis and optimization models used to test Cost Cap outcomes. The ideal candidate combines an audit or internal audit background with strong accounting and ERP system fundamentals and is equally comfortable in the detail of a journal entry and in a large dataset.

Key Responsibilities

• Review accounting transactions for Cost Cap treatment and prepare Cost Cap journals, accruals and adjustments in the ERP during monthly close.


• Own Cost Cap evidence retention and document control: maintaining version-controlled schedules, source documentation, approval trials and a complete, audit-ready file.


• Reconcile large volumes of financial and operational data — general ledger, procurement, inventory and fixed assets — to Cost Cap reporting, and investigate and resolve variances.


• Prepare Cost Cap reporting schedules, workpapers and other regulatory submissions, including full year and interim reporting.


• Support Cost Cap reviews, Agreed Upon Procedures and external / FIA audits: prepare requested schedules, track open items and follow through to closure.


• Draft responses to FIA queries and clarification requests for the Financial Regulations Manager’s review.


• Support firm-wide Cost Cap Q&A, deliver training and awareness sessions, and keep internal guidance and process documentation current as regulations change.


• Build and maintain data analysis and optimization models to test Cost Cap outcomes, assess cost allocation options and quantify cap headroom and exposure.


• Extract, cleanse and analyze large transactional datasets from the ERP and source systems to test cost classification and identify anomalies.


• Support fair value assessments and Related Party / Exchange Transaction analysis, maintaining the supporting documentation.


• Assist with year-to-go forecasts and multi-year Cost Cap budgets in partnership with FP&A.


• Identify and document control gaps in Cost Cap processes and support remediation.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.


• 3+ years' experience in audit, internal audit, or a controls/compliance-focused finance role; external audit experience strongly preferred.

• Ability to interpret detailed rules or regulations, apply them consistently to real transactions, and explain them clearly to non-specialists.


• High attention to detail and strong quality control over own work.


• Clear, concise written communication, particularly when preparing regulator-facing material.


• Organized and deadline-driven, able to manage multiple reporting cycles at once.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting a regulated reporting regime or a regulator-facing reporting cycle.


• Motorsport, sporting regulation, or high-performance engineering industry experience.


• Experience with cost allocation models, standard costing or project cost accounting.


• Experience automating recurring reporting or reconciliations to improve data quality and turnaround.


• Familiarity with fair value measurement concepts under IFRS 13 / ASC 820.
