Job summary

New England Capital Financial Advisors, LLC is seeking a motivated Financial Planning Associate/Paraplanner to join our wealth‑management team in Connecticut. You’ll work closely with Financial Advisors, help develop financial plans, and deliver excellent client experiences while gaining hands-on experience in planning and investment management.

This role supports professional growth, CFP® certification pathways, and advancement within the firm.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree related to financial planning or wealth management.
  • Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Support advisors and clients during the financial planning process.
  • Gather client information, prepare analyses, retirement projections, and scenarios.
  • Assist in developing plans and client recommendations.
  • Create presentations for client meetings and update planning documents.
  • Maintain Investment Policy Statements and planning documents.
  • Attend client meetings and take follow-up notes and actions.

We're seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Planning Associate/Paraplanner to join our team. This role offers hands‑on experience working directly with Financial Advisors, participating in client meetings, developing financial plans, and helping deliver exceptional client experiences.

Whether you're beginning your career in financial planning or looking to deepen your experience in wealth management, this position provides a clear path for professional growth, industry certifications, and advancement within the firm.

This is not a sales position and does not require cold calling.
What You'll Do

As a Financial Planning Associate, you'll play an important role in supporting our advisors and clients throughout the financial planning process.

  • Gather and organize client financial information
  • Prepare financial planning analyses, retirement projections, and scenario modeling
  • Assist in developing financial plans and client recommendations
  • Create presentations and planning materials for client meetings
  • Maintain Investment Policy Statements and planning documents
Meeting Preparation & Follow-Up
  • Prepare agendas and pre‑meeting materials
  • Participate in client meetings alongside advisors
  • Document meeting notes and follow‑up action items
  • Coordinate implementation of planning recommendations
  • Work with attorneys, accountants, and other outside professionals when needed
Client Service
  • Respond to client requests and service needs
  • Assist with account maintenance and operational processing
  • Help support client events, workshops, and educational seminars
  • Work collaboratively with advisors and client service team members
Qualifications
Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Financial Planning, Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, or a related field
OR
  • Previous experience in wealth management, financial planning, banking, insurance, investments, or client service
Skills & Attributes
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
