Job description

We are recruiting for a Financial Planning and Analysis / Business Intelligence Manager for one of our top beauty clients! The Business Intelligence / FP&A Manager will develop, implement and lead Soleil Collective's approach to business intelligence across three brands. Building on the data foundation of our new NetSuite instance, this individual will set the BI strategy and implementation of AI-enabled tools and analytics to mine insights that drive better business performance. Leveraging these tools, the role will spearhead our financial planning and analysis activities, including budgeting/forecasts, strategic analysis, business cases, and financial reporting. The role sits at the point where data, AI, finance and systems meet, making this individual the authoritative source on how our numbers are built, defined and reported. In addition, this role will act as is the NetSuite system owner and primary administrator. The role reports to our Global Controller but will collaborate frequently with the CFO and CEO and be embedded in key commercial activities

Responsibilities
  • Define and lead the business intelligence strategy with an AI-forward approach at its core, setting the roadmap, architecture and tools for how the group collects, models and uses data.
  • Design and build the group's data foundation on NetSuite and connected systems, including Shopify, Amazon, Shopee, 3PL and marketing platforms, with a governed data model ready for AI and self-service analytics.
  • Select, implement and lead adoption of AI-enabled analytics tools so that leaders can get trusted answers directly from the data.
  • Build executive, brand and departmental dashboards in NetSuite (saved searches and SuiteAnalytics workbooks) and a BI platform such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or vanguard AI tool, moving the business from static reporting to real-time, self-service insight.
  • Use AI to automate recurring analysis and reporting, including the monthly databook, variance commentary, forecasting and anomaly detection, and measure the time saved and the decisions improved.
  • Define, document and own core KPIs and metric definitions so that every brand works from one set of numbers and one source of truth, and the AI tools built on them give consistent, explainable answers.
  • Act as the subject-matter expert and champion for AI in analytics across finance and the wider business, training users, sharing use cases and building financial and data literacy.
  • Own the annual budget and rolling forecast process across brands, channels and entities, including revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, headcount and cash flow.
  • Lead monthly budget-vs-actual and forecast variance analysis, explaining performance by brand, channel and market in terms operational leaders can act on.
  • Prepare monthly management reporting and quarterly board and sponsor materials for Gauge Capital.
  • Prepare business cases for all new product launches and strategic projects, including new distribution, marketplaces and geographies, pricing changes, supplier transitions and logistics decisions, and track results after launch.
  • Provide scenario, investment and ad hoc analysis to support strategic decisions, including pricing, channel mix, sales and marketing ROI, and the evaluation and integration of acquired brands.
  • Serve as system owner and primary administrator of our global NetSuite instance, managing users, roles and permissions, and maintaining segregation of duties in line with internal controls.
  • Own the MasterData management for item and customer records with the support of a full-time overseas resource. The aim is to keep those records clean, consistent and free of duplicates across brands, subsidiaries and channels.
  • Ensure data connections between NetSuite and Shopify, Amazon, Shopee, the 3PL, and banking platform are operating correctly and troubleshoot as issues arise. This is supported by a full-time offshore contractor. That covers watching the data flows, fixing errors when data doesn't sync, reconciling to NetSuite, managing integration vendors and designing new integrations, so data reaches the BI layer complete and on time.
  • Lead post-go-live stabilization and continuous improvement: triage issues, maintain a prioritized enhancement backlog, manage NetSuite's twice-yearly release upgrades through sandbox testing, evaluate new AI capabilities as they are released, and act as primary contact for the our aftercare support parter and integration vendors.
  • Build and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and system documentation for all owned processes, and train users across the group so that data is captured correctly at source rather than corrected by adjustment.
Role requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience leading the design and build of a business intelligence capability for NetSuite. Strong working knowledge of at least one BI platform such as Power BI, Tableau or Looker is beneficial. NetSuite experience is a must.
  • Strong hands-on use of AI and large language model tools in analytics and finance, with concrete examples of using AI to automate analysis, reporting or forecasting, and the curiosity to keep pace with a fast-moving field.
  • Hands-on NetSuite administration experience in a live multi-subsidiary, multi-currency environment is required, including roles and permissions, saved searches, workflows and configuration.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience across business intelligence, FP&A or finance systems, ideally in a fast-paced consumer goods, beauty, retail or e-commerce business.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics or a related field; NetSuite Administrator certification are advantageous.
  • Depth in budgeting, forecasting and three-statement financial modelling, with experience consolidating results across multiple entities and currencies.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and the month-end close, sufficient to partner effectively with the controllership team.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the judgment to know which numbers matter and the ability to reach defensible conclusions from unstructured or incomplete data.
  • Advanced Excel, including building and auditing complex models.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non-financial audiences and influence brand and operational stakeholders.
  • Experience of e-commerce and marketplace channels (Shopify, Amazon, Shopee or equivalent) preferred; experience of a NetSuite implementation or the first year after an ERP go-live, and of private-equity-backed or acquisitive environments, is advantageous.
  • Strategic mindset but willing and able to be very hands-on in a scrappy, 'start-up' environment, with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism and discretion.
