Job description

Philadelphia, PA | Hybrid | $155K + Bonus

A rapidly growing, private equity-backed company is seeking an experienced FP&A Manager to join its finance team and partner directly with the CFO and senior leadership.

This is an excellent opportunity for an FP&A professional who enjoys working in a high-growth, PE-backed environment where analysis directly influences business decisions. This role will own key planning processes while providing financial insight to leadership and private equity partners.

The Opportunity

The FP&A Manager will lead the company's budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, financial modeling, and monthly business reviews. This is much more than a reporting role—you'll work closely with operational leaders to understand the drivers behind the numbers and help leadership determine where to invest, where to improve, and where to change direction.

The company has a strong data environment and is actively incorporating AI into its finance processes, creating an opportunity for someone who enjoys using technology to improve how FP&A operates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the annual budget, rolling forecasts, and long-range financial plan
  • Build sophisticated driver-based financial models and scenario analyses
  • Analyze financial and operational trends and translate them into actionable recommendations
  • Partner with Operations, Recruiting, HR, and other business leaders to understand key P&L drivers
  • Lead monthly business reviews and provide meaningful insight into financial performance
  • Develop business cases and financial models for new initiatives and investments
  • Measure results of strategic initiatives and communicate findings to leadership
  • Prepare financial presentations and analysis for the executive team and private equity partners
  • Identify opportunities to automate and improve FP&A processes using AI and other technology
  • Help build and continuously improve the company's FP&A function as the organization scales
  • Lead and develop analysts while owning the planning process from start to finish
What We're Looking For

PE-backed company experience is required.

  • 8+ years of progressive finance experience, including 3+ years in FP&A
  • Proven experience working in a private equity-owned/PE-backed company
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and financial modeling
  • Advanced Excel and strong financial modeling skills
  • Experience building driver-based and scenario models
  • Strong analytical and data skills; experience with Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or similar tools is a plus
  • Experience working with large datasets and translating operational data into financial insights
  • Hands-on experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Microsoft Copilot in finance or analytical work
  • Experience presenting to senior leadership, boards, and/or investors
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to turn complex analysis into a clear business story
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
The Ideal Candidate

We're looking for someone who is analytical, confident, curious, and entrepreneurial—someone who doesn't simply report what happened but wants to understand why it happened and what the business should do next.

The ideal candidate is comfortable in an environment where things move quickly and processes are continually evolving. You should enjoy working directly with operations and leadership, challenging assumptions with data, and building better ways of doing things.

Why Join?
  • Direct partnership with the CFO and senior leadership
  • Exposure to PE partners, board-level reporting, and strategic decision-making
  • Opportunity to help shape and build the FP&A function
  • Strong focus on AI, analytics, and modern finance technology
  • Significant visibility and opportunity for career growth
  • Equity participation
  • Hybrid flexibility in the Philadelphia area
  • Generous PTO and professional development support

Compensation: Up to $155K base + bonus + equity

If you're an experienced FP&A professional with private equity-backed company experience who wants to move beyond traditional reporting and have a real impact on a high-growth business, this is an opportunity worth exploring.
