Job summary

Ameriprise Financial Services, LLC is seeking a Financial Planning Analyst to support Financial Advisors across the planning process. The role blends plan construction with client-facing responsibilities and data-driven modeling using MoneyGuidePro, with NaviPlan transition emphasis.

The position offers growth toward CFP certification and an Associate Financial Advisor track, in a full-time, Monday–Friday schedule with potential overtime where allowed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in financial planning, finance, economics, or related discipline; CFP Board Registered Program preferred
• Two years of experience with a financial-services firm offering investment management, insurance products, and comprehensive financial planning preferred; internships or comparable experience considered
• Series 7, Series 66, and Life/Health licenses or ability to obtain within timeframe
• MoneyGuidePro experience strongly preferred; NaviPlan or other planning software valuable
• CFP certification preferred; willingness to pursue CFP certification valuable
• Ability to read and interpret financial statements, tax returns, and estate documents
• Strong analytical judgment, mathematical comfort, and organization for evaluating planning scenarios
• Excellent written, verbal, and client-presentation skills; proficient with MS Office and planning tooling
• Integrity, empathy, discretion, collaboration across advisor teams, and deadline management

Responsibilities

• Prepare preliminary financial-planning documents and MoneyGuidePro deliverables for advisor review and client meetings
• Update client data and run comprehensive planning models, scenario analyses, and illustrations
• Gather and analyze data across retirement, investments, cash flow, insurance, education, tax, and estate planning
• Support insurance-solution analysis with product illustrations and reprojections within licensing and role parameters
• Prepare for client meetings by assembling files, entering data, and identifying data gaps
• Present planning models in client meetings and communicate planning concepts clearly
• Complete meeting follow-up, draft financial plans, and deliver client-ready materials
• Support NaviPlan to MoneyGuide transition with templates, workflows, and quality standards
• Maintain confidential client files and comply with data-security procedures
• Contribute to planning-team projects and process improvements
