Job description

Our client, a growing independent power producer (IPP) active in utility-scale solar, wind, and battery storage is looking to add a Senior FP&A Analyst to their expanding finance team. The company operates across the full project lifecycle - greenfield development, co-development, and acquisition of later-stage assets- and has an established, growing portfolio of completed renewable energy projects.

This is a rare opportunity to join a well-capitalized platform at an exciting inflection point - backed by a leading global energy infrastructure investor - as it scales its portfolio of solar, wind, and battery storage assets across the United States.

The Role

Sitting at the intersection of project finance, asset management, development, construction, and accounting, the Senior FP&A Analyst will own the company's financial planning and reporting function. You'll translate complex project and corporate economics into clear, decision-ready analysis for senior leadership and the Board - and build the processes that keep a fast-moving platform running with financial discipline.

What you'll own:
  • Monthly and annual management reporting, variance analysis, and budget-to-actuals
  • Corporate liquidity planning and multi-year strategic planning cycles
  • Financial forecasting across the project portfolio, with a direct link to project finance and construction teams
  • Investor and lender compliance packages, including project-level financials, debt metrics, and cash distribution forecasts
  • Board and executive presentation materials
  • Cross-functional liaison between FP&A, Accounting, Operations, and Project Finance
  • Ad hoc modelling and analysis under tight timelines
Experience & Education:
  • 4–7 years of FP&A experience; renewable energy or infrastructure exposure a strong plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business; Master's preferred
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills; strong across the MS Office suite
  • Solid GAAP knowledge and familiarity with energy financing structures (tax equity, project debt, etc.)
  • CPA or FMVA designation a plus, but not required
  • A self-starter who thrives in lean, entrepreneurial environments and takes genuine ownership
  • Strong communicator - able to distil complex financial analysis into clear narratives for non-finance stakeholders
Why This Role:
  • High-visibility position with direct exposure to senior leadership and the Board
  • Durham, NC: hybrid, 4 days a week in-office. Relocation support is provided to any candidates who are open and able to relocate to the area.
  • Competitive base salary + performance bonus + comprehensive benefits package
