Monitor portfolio company financial performance versus budget, forecast, and underwriting cases
Analyze income statements, balance sheets, cash flows, and working capital trends
Track and interpret KPIs, operational metrics, and unit economics across portfolio companies
Build and maintain KPI dashboards, performance trackers, and reporting tools for internal stakeholders
Support monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc performance reviews
Ensure data accuracy and consistency across portfolio reporting
Identify performance gaps, risks, and opportunities relative to investment theses
Support operational improvement initiatives, margin expansion efforts, and growth strategies
Assist in evaluating the financial impact of pricing changes, cost initiatives, and strategic investments
Prepare performance summaries and materials for investment committee and portfolio review meetings
Communicate key insights, trends, and risks in a clear, data-driven manner
Support post-acquisition reviews and lessons-learned analyses
Assist with analysis for add-on acquisitions, refinancings, and exit planning
Support updates to valuation and return models based on actual performance
Contribute to scenario analysis around strategic alternatives and timing decisions
Direct exposure to how private equity firms drive value after acquisition
Close collaboration with operating partners and management teams

This profile reflects the competencies commonly sought for financial performance–focused private equity roles.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
Strong Excel and financial analysis skills; experience building dashboards is a plus
Solid understanding of accounting, financial statements, and performance metrics
Prior internships or experience in private equity, investment banking, consulting, FP&A, or corporate finance is beneficial
Exposure to performance tracking, budgeting, forecasting, or operational analysis is a plus
Demonstrated interest in portfolio management and value creation
Strong analytical thinking with attention to detail
Ability to translate financial data into actionable insights
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable working across multiple portfolio companies and stakeholders
