**Financial Oversight Analyst**

**About the Position**
The Financial Oversight Analyst for the College of Education will work
closely with the Assistant Director of Financial Oversight and other COE
staff to manage the travel and purchasing needs for a number of academic
departments within the college. The position requires a basic accounting
knowledge and the ability to perform basic to moderately complex tasks
independently. Respond to administrative matters within established
limits to ensure that the college needs are being met and that
University standard principles and guidelines are being followed. This
position is expected to communicate regularly with the Assistant
Director of Financial Oversight, other COE staff and faculty on various
dept topics.
**Responsibilities Include**
85% - Financial Support
- Supports faculty, staff and student travel transactions for academic
departments including endowed chairs, AIEE, and select grant-related
travel while working with the reimbursement processing support unit
to facilitate reimbursement.
- Understands the university procurement credit card (p-card) policies
and appropriate use for reconciling monthly transactions.
- Maintains and enters data into established spreadsheets for
departmental reconciliation by ADFO and other COE staff.
- Coordinates with the ADFO to follow accounting practices and
increase department productivity.
- Understands and applies knowledge of appropriate handling of
financial information.
- Performs research to provide chairs with financial data and
recommendations.
- Gathers and interprets basic information related to department
budget and expense tracking to be used for recommendations.
- Writes basic reports and communications to provide information.
- Compiles data and prepares basic summaries to be used for plans,
forecasts and budgets.
10% - Operational Support
- Answer inquiries and compose correspondence on own initiative on
general, technical and financial matters in accordance with the
guidelines established.
- Provides backup support with student wage timesheet approvals.
5% - Other
- Other duties as assigned.
**Minimum Qualifications**
- High school diploma.
- 1 year of accounting or finance experience.
- *A combination of related education, experience, and training may be
used as an equivalent to the above Minimum Qualifications.*
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Associate's or bachelor's degree.
- Basic accounting or finance experience in higher education.
- Knowledge of payroll and finance policies.
- Knowledge of financial reporting in higher education and university
budgeting practices.
- Knowledge of or experience with PeopleSoft Employee Management
(LOUIE) and PeopleSoft Financial software, Microsoft Office Suite
**Knowledge, Skills, & Abilitie**
- Knowledge of or experience with academic structure and terminology.
- Knowledge of office and administrative p actices and principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
- Proficient in English composition, grammar, spelling and
punctuation, and basic math.
- Organizational skills.
- Ability to problem solve and make basic decisions.

****Compensation****
- Salary range is $44,422.00. Annual salary commensurate with
candidate's qualifications and related experience.
