Job summary

ZT Systems is seeking a Finance Operations Manager in Secaucus, NJ to oversee inventory valuation, scrap/disposition, in-transit accruals, and ERP governance. You will coordinate audits and partner with AP, inventory governance, and cross-functional teams to drive accurate close cycles.

The role requires 6+ years in financial operations or supply chain finance, SAP and Jira proficiency, and strong leadership to mentor staff.

About The Role

The Finance Operations Manager will oversee core operational inventory workflows, scrap approvals, vendor reconciliations, and in-transit inventory accruals. Sitting at the intersection of supply chain operations, internal audit, and general ledger accounting, this management role ensures seamless operational control execution, proper inventory valuation analysis, and operational audit readiness. The ideal candidate brings a robust finance and operations background with 5+ years of experience, including direct leadership in coordinating operationally focused audits and managing cross-functional workflows.

What You Will Do

Inventory Valuation Oversight:

Collaborate on monthly inventory valuation reviews, analyzing weighted average cost versus standard cost variances and coordinating data inputs between internal audit, inventory governance, and finance leadership.

Scrap & Disposition Management:

Oversee monthly scrap review processes, ensuring all Scrap Requests (SRA tickets) and Stock Transport Order (STO) scrap requests are properly vetted and approved via Jira according to the defined authorization matrix prior to posting in SAP.

In-Transit Inventory & Accruals:

Review and approve monthly vendor statement-to-AP reconciliations—ensuring at least 90% value coverage on open Purchase Order (PO) reports—to accurately recognize in-transit inventory and execute month-end accruals.

Operational Audit Coordination:

Lead and coordinate all operationally focused internal and external audits, serving as the primary operational point of contact to provide supporting schedules, ticketing approvals, and inventory workflow documentation.

ERP & Workflow Governance:

Manage operational posting rules and automated write-off workflows in SAP, maintaining tight alignment between physical inventory movements and ledger entries.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Partner with Accounts Payable (AP), Senior Analysts, Inventory Governance, Internal Audit, and operational supply chain teams to resolve operational bottlenecks and streamline close cycles.

What You Bring

Education and qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, Accounting, or a related field required.

Experience: 6+ years of progressive experience in financial operations, inventory control, operational accounting, or supply chain finance.

Leadership: 0-3 years leading and mentoring talent.

Audit: Hands‑on experience coordinating operational, internal, or external inventory-related audits.

Valuation: Proven track record managing inventory valuation methodologies (standard vs. weighted average cost), scrap approvals (SRA/STO), and in-transit PO accrual reconciliations.

Systems: Deep proficiency with ERP systems (specifically SAP) and enterprise workflow tracking tools like Jira.

Knowledge: Strong understanding of physical inventory workflows, vendor reconciliation models, and operational risk controls.

Skills: Excellent cross-functional leadership, stakeholder management, and analytical problem‑solving skills.

Benefits & Rewards

The typical base salary for this position is expected to be between $76,875 and $103,000 annually. If hired, the final base salary will be determined on an individual basis taking into consideration experience, skills, knowledge, education, and/or certifications. Base salary is just one component of ZT Systems total rewards philosophy.
