About Clay

Our mission is to help organizations turn any growth idea into reality.

We see growth as a creative practice, not a formula. Finding and reaching your best-fit customers takes unique ideas and constant iteration. As AI makes execution faster and tactics easier to copy, creativity is the only lasting advantage. We're already helping thousands of customers — including Anthropic, Notion, Google, and Ramp — go to market with unique data, signals, and AI research.

In 2025, we raised a $100M Series C backed by world-class investors including Sequoia, CapitalG, and First Round — and crossed $100M in revenue.

In 2026, we announced our second employee tender offer in 9 months at a new $5B valuation. We also launched a community equity round, for our customers, agency partners, and club members.

Some things to know about us:

  • Our community includes 11,000+ customers, 150+ integration partners, 125+ agencies, 50+ Clay clubs, and 30k members on Slack.

  • Our cultureis unique inside and outside of work. Our team members are also DJs, activists, writers, clowns, marathoners, skydivers, psychedelic therapists, social workers, and more.

  • All employees can work for free with world-class coaches who specialize in creativity, management, and more.

  • Our operating principles — including negative maintenance and non-attached action — guide our work. Read more about them here.

You will also serve as a key point of contact for employee requests and HR operations support, making this a role that blends technical accounting rigor with strong cross-functional service.

This is a great fit for someone who wants to build process and infrastructure at a fast-growing Series C company, working closely with the Controller and broader finance team as we scale our systems and controls (including our ongoing ERP transition to Campfire).

  • Identify and resolve discrepancies with vendors and internal stakeholders

Cash Management
  • Perform daily cash monitoring and bank reconciliations across multiple entities and currencies

  • Support wire transfers and international payments, including coordination with banking partners

  • Maintain cash forecasting inputs and flag any liquidity concerns

  • Ensure proper segregation of duties and internal controls over cash disbursements

Fixed Assets
  • Maintain the fixed asset register, including additions, disposals, and depreciation schedules

  • Ensure proper capitalization policies are followed in accordance with company policy and US GAAP

  • Partner with Engineering and Workplace teams on asset tracking and physical verification

  • Support monthly and annual depreciation entries and reconciliations

Employee & HR Operations Support
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee expense reports, reimbursements, and related inquiries

  • Own day to day administration of Clay's corporate travel program, including booking tool support and vendor relationship management

  • Support payroll related accounting entries and reconciliations in partnership with the Payroll team

  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes as they relate to finance systems access and equipment

  • Collaborate with People Ops on policy questions that touch finance (travel, expense, equity related requests)

General Accounting
  • Prepare journal entries and supporting schedules for month end close

  • Contribute to the accuracy and timeliness of financial statements

  • Support internal and external audit requests with organized documentation

  • Identify opportunities to improve and automate existing processes, particularly as Clay continues its ERP implementation

What You'll Bring
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting or financial operations experience, ideally in a high-growth SaaS or startup environment

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • Strong working knowledge of AP, cash reconciliation, and fixed asset accounting

  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced environment with evolving systems and processes
