Qualifications

GENERAL FUNCTION: Reviews, investigates and decisions alerts involving potential sanctions-related concerns to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Responsible for escalating financial crime related matters when appropriate.

Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Banks risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and escalating risks of all types.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reviews and Analyzes system activity and generated alerts in accordance with Financial Crimes expectations.
  • Ability to analyze Financial Crimes related alerts related to risk activity.
  • Appropriately escalates matters associated with Financial Crimes activity that warrants engagement from supervisory staff.
  • Assist with systems testing, validation and KRI reporting.
  • Provides Financial Crimes related support and works with the first line of defense for the bank.
  • Works with various business units to understand the Financial Crimes alerted activity and to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Possesses working knowledge of industry trends.
  • Ability to complete assigned work in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with various lines of business on Financial Crimes related matters.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Compensation:

The base salary for this position is reflective of the range of salary levels for all roles within this pay grade across the US. In addition to the base salary, this role is eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan, with any such payment based upon company, line of business and/or individual performance.

BANK SECRECY ACT REQUIREMENTS: Responsible for adhering to the reporting and record keeping requirements of the Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering rules and regulations, observing economic sanctions by prohibiting transactions as specified by the Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC), following the bank’s customer identification program (CIP) rules, observing all Bank policies and procedures relating to BSA, OFAC, CIP, and related acts, and participation in ongoing related training.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • One to three years of specialist experience in compliance, investigative work, or a related field.
  • Associate’s degree or commensurate work experience.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of suspicious activity in regards to financial institutions, money laundering trends, terrorist financing indicators, the Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering efforts, USA PATRIOT Act, Fraud and OFAC.
  • Functional understanding of federal and state laws and regulations pertinent to the position
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to multi-task detailed items and follow-up as needed.
  • Proactive in identifying potential concerns and following up to resolve such issues.
  • Excellent teamwork, interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Ability to make decisions or know when to elevate matters to management
  • Ability to collaborate with others, initiate action, adapt to change and accept challenging assignments.
