Job summary

Allworth Financial is seeking a Financial Controller to lead the accounting and financial reporting team in Addison, Texas. This hybrid, full-time role reports into corporate finance and guides the firm’s growth through strong internal controls and accurate reporting.

The ideal candidate holds a CPA or equivalent and brings 8+ years of managerial accounting experience, including public company and PE-backed environments.

The Financial Controller plays a crucial role at Allworth, overseeing the accounting, and financial reporting departments. Ensuring financial records, reports, and statements are accurate and compliant with laws and regulations.

This is a full-time, exempt hybrid position, reporting into our Addison, TX office.

Job Responsibilities:

• Leadership:Provide technical and operational leadership across accounting functions. Manage the accounting team of 9 associates, including hiring, training, and supporting associates develop to keep pace with firm growth


• Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting:Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes and reportingin addition to adherence to all applicable accounting pronouncements


• M&A Diligence and integration: Lead the process to ensure acquired businesses are reviewed and integrated optimally from an accounting perspective, ensuring that new and existing firm associates are supported throughout the transitions


• Payroll and Benefits: Assist the team responsible for managing payroll and benefits for the firm


• Systems and Controls:Implement and oversee financial systems, processes, and controls to safeguard company assets and ensure integrity of financial data


• Broker Dealer:Ensure appropriate accounting for all broker dealer related business

Qualifications

• Certifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or similar qualification.


• Experience: 8+ years of managerial experience in accounting, preferably in a combination of both public company and private equity backed firm environments. Preferred industries: Wealth Management, Asset Management, Insurance, Real Estate Investment


• Skills: In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, strong leadership, organizational and communication skills
