Job summary

RSM is seeking a FaaS Intern to support the finance and accounting functions for middle-market clients. You will work directly with clients to assist with bill pay, billing, month-end close, and financial reporting, while gaining exposure to ERP and FAO technology implementations.

As part of the FaaS practice, you will learn best practices in designing and supporting client finance processes, contributing to high-quality deliverables and an understanding of diverse industries.

Qualifications

• Working toward a Bachelor's in accounting and/or finance.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills are a must.
• Ability to balance multiple responsibilities simultaneously plus strong analytical and decision making skills.
• Proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
• Strong organizational skills along with the ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to adapt to change effectively.
• Experience with automated accounting systems (preferred).

FaaS Interns support the finance and accounting functions middle market companies in various industries. Interns work directly with clients to support all areas of finance and accounting, particularly in the areas of bill pay, billing, month-end close and financial reporting. FaaS Interns also help client management review and analyze periodic financials to understand and explain fluctuations in clients' businesses. Through this, FaaS Interns develop a deep understanding of our clients' industries and how the finance and accounting functions work within their businesses. FaaS Interns also participate in and support FaaS technology implementations for ERP, accounts payable, time and expense, and month-end close systems.

RSM's FaaS practice prides itself on the processes and technologies they have built to remain efficient, scalable and to produce high quality deliverables. As an FaaS Intern, you will learn the 'best' way to design and support client finance and accounting functions, which is the core understanding required to become a valuable consultant.

Responsibilities

This is a hands-on position that requires extensive communication and coordination across multiple parties. Duties performed on behalf of clients include:

At RSM, an employee's pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $34 - $40 per hour
