Job summary

The NBA is seeking an Associate Manager, Financial Analyst to coordinate financial reporting and analytics for the WNBA teams. This role supports Team Finance, reviews projections, and assists with the annual business cycle.

The successful candidate will analyze performance, assist with ticket and union reporting, and liaise with external auditors. A CPA is preferred but not required; 3–4 years of relevant experience and strong Excel skills are essential. Bonus and benefits included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field.
• CPA preferred, not required.
• Minimum of 3–4 years of experience in public accounting, FP&A, corporate finance, or related strategic finance role.
• Strong Excel skills (Index/Match, V-Lookups; macros a big plus) and PowerPoint.
• Experience with large data sets, descriptive analytics, and data transformation.

WORK OPTION: The NBA currently provides eligible employees the option of working remotely one day per week._________________Essential Functions and Job SummaryThe Financial Analyst plays a key role in coordinating the financial reporting and analytics related to the WNBA teams and will support WNBA Team Finance, which serves as the central point of contact to team financial representatives. This person will assist in the reviewing Team Projections, the related team audit processes, perform analyses on the Teams' financial performance, assist with ticket and union reporting, and other key deliverables during the annual business cycle.Major ResponsibilitiesCollect team projections, vet the information, perform variance analysis, and ensure reporting consistency among the teams.Run benchmarking analyses on teams' projection submissions and provide valuable insights to team and league personnel.Assist with ticket reporting for team/league distribution on a weekly basis and review to ensure compliance with reporting requirements.Serve as contact for various league deliverables such as team billing requisitions and communications to teams.Assist with the team audit process, acting as a liaison between team financial representatives and external auditors.Research accounting guidance as necessary to assist teams.Required Education/Professional ExperienceBachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related fieldCPA Preferred, not requiredMinimum of 3-4 years of experience in public accounting, financial planning & analysis, corporate finance, or other strategic finance roleRequired Skills/Knowledge AttributesStrong competency in core professional skills including attention to detail, resourcefulness, responsiveness, flexibility, initiative, and follow-through.Effective communicator to work with team financial personnel and external auditors.Ability to multi-task while meeting strict deadlinesMust be very proficient in Excel (Index / Match, V-Lookups, and macros knowledge a big plus), PowerPoint, and other Office/computer systems.Must be comfortable working with large data sets and creating executive-level summaries and trend reports.Prior experience working with and managing data sets, including extraction and merges from source systems, transformation, and providing preliminary descriptive analytics.Experience with leveraging AI tools and SAP is a plus.Salary Range:$95,000-$110,000Job Posting Title:Associate ManagerEmployees currently are eligible to receive an annual discretionary performance bonus, awarded at the sole discretion of the Company and subject to any terms and conditions set by the Company.
