Job summary

Medica in Minnetonka, MN, is seeking a Financial Analyst II to support month-end close, regulatory compliance, and operational finance. You will prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.

This onsite role requires a Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field and at least 3 years of experience, with strong Excel and ERP system skills (PeopleSoft, FNDS, TM1).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or related role.
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas).
• Experience with ERP systems (PeopleSoft, FNDS, TM1).
• Understanding of month-end close processes and accounting principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; high attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Month-End Close & Journal Entries: post monthly entries for paid claims, IBNR, revenue, and membership.
• Reconciliations & Analysis: cash-to-claims reconciliations, variance analysis, and discrepancy investigations.
• Regulatory Reporting & Compliance: regulatory data submissions and cost report support.
• Revenue & Membership Accounting: record revenue, process membership data, and related tax postings.
• Process Improvement & Documentation: maintain SOPs and support system migrations.
