Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market, Inc. seeks a Financial Analyst 2 to support planning, forecasting, and financial analysis for the business.

This role partners with Finance and Business partners to develop plans, weekly forecasts, and meaningful benchmarks while delivering ad hoc reporting for strategic initiatives. The position reports to the Store Support Office in Phoenix, AZ with a hybrid schedule (in the office Tuesday–Thursday) and requires strong attention to detail and proactive communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Finance related field required, MBA preferred.
• Minimum of 1–3 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with budgeting, planning, modeling, forecasting systems.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and financial data analysis.
• Strong communication and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Grocery or Retail experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Execute long-range financial planning, annual budgets, and quarterly forecasts.
• Refresh and understand financial models to support planning and leadership decisions.
• Support P&L forecast processes and highlight key drivers, risks and opportunities.
• Generate and distribute weekly and monthly reports on key metrics for leadership.
• Collaborate with finance teams to streamline processes and implement strategic initiatives.

Overview

You will partner with the Finance and Business partner teams to create plans and weekly forecasts that accurately reflect the state of the business and provide for a meaningful financial benchmark. You will provide ad hoc reporting and modeling support for strategic initiatives and special projects. This position requires a high attention to detail and the ability to understand and identify anomalies, communicating findings to key stakeholders accurately and timely. We are looking for a team member that is self‑motivated and reliable, with a positive attitude and open to change as our company continues to grow.

This position reports into our Store Support Office in Phoenix, AZ. Hybrid schedule in office Tuesday-Thursday.

Financial Planning & Forecasting

• Executes on assigned processes to support the development of long-range financial planning, annual budgets, and quarterly forecasts


• Refreshes, modifies and understands the financial models that support accurate planning and provide recommendations to business partners & leadership


• Supports P&L forecast processes and highlights key business drivers, risk and opportunities

Financial Analysis

• Analyze and articulate the key financial drivers to provide a deeper understanding of financial drivers to business leaders, including identifying potential downstream implications within the business


• Leverages knowledge of business to identify issues and collaborate with leadership and business partners to provide potential solutions


• Supports the planning and implementation of key Strategic Initiatives

Reporting

• Generate and distribute weekly & monthly reporting on key business metrics for department leadership


• Partner with the business to understand variances to forecast / budget, understand and relay ongoing implications of those variances


• Collaborate with analyst peer group, in identifying opportunities to streamline and enhance existing processes


• Leverage Workday, Adaptive, Power BI, and other financial applications as needed

Other

• Able to assist in project work that spans across multiple teams


• Identify conflicting priorities, and working through solutions with direct supervisor


• Ownership over continued self-development and leveraging finance leadership to support as needed

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related field is required, with an MBA preferred


• Requires a minimum of one to three years of prior relevant experience


• Experience with budgeting, planning, modeling, and forecasting systems


• Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, and the analysis of financial data and statements preferred


• Excels working in a fast-paced environment and able to manage competing priorities


• Strong ability to communicate timely and collaborate with peers, all levels of Finance, and business leadership in a timely and effective manner


• Demonstrates confidence and maintains a positive outlook


• Comfortable training peers & business partners on owned processes


• Actively engaged with self-development, partnering with direct supervisor


• Self-starter, can‑do attitude, and organized / proactive in managing timing


• Excellent verbal and communication skills


• Grocery or Retail experience is preferred


• Intermediate to Strong, in Microsoft Office Suite, primarily Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred

• Experience leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI), machine learning, predictive analytics, or generative AI tools to enhance or improve financial forecasting, scenario planning, reporting automation, and business decision support.


• Experience using AI-enabled tools (Microsoft Copilot, Power BI AI capabilities, Python, Azure AI, Databricks, or similar platforms) to improve financial analysis and reporting.


• Experience supporting retail, consumer products, manufacturing, or distribution businesses.


• Proficiency with Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or other analytics tools.


• Experience working with large datasets and ERP systems.
