Job summary

Braze, a leading customer engagement platform with offices around the world, seeks a Financial Analyst II to join our growing FP&A team in Chicago. You will partner with Sales leadership to drive financial planning, forecasting, and strategic decision-making, owning ACV bookings, operating expenses, and headcount insights.

Reporting to the FP&A Senior Manager supporting Revenue, you’ll collaborate across Sales, Operations, Accounting, and other cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Finance or FP&A experience, preferably in high-growth SaaS/tech.
  • Excellent Excel and financial modeling skills required.
  • Experience with planning, forecasting, and reporting processes.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as FP&A partner to Sales, providing financial guidance and insights.
  • Develop headcount plans aligned with sales targets.
  • Own operating expense planning and forecasting for Sales, incl. personnel costs.
  • Own the ACV forecast and report performance against targets.
  • Support month-end close with variance analysis and reporting.
  • Build and maintain financial models for strategic planning and scenarios.
  • Identify automation opportunities to improve planning and forecasting.
  • Support ad hoc analyses and executive requests.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

The Finance team is seeking a Financial Analyst II to join our growing FP&A team as the primary Finance Business Partner supporting the Sales organization. In this role, you will partner closely with Sales leadership to drive financial planning, forecasting, and strategic decision making. You will own the planning and reporting of ACV bookings, operating expenses, and headcount while delivering insights that help optimize business performance and support the company's growth.

Reporting to the FP&A Senior Manager supporting the Revenue organization, you'll collaborate across Sales, Operations, Accounting, and other cross-functional teams. This role is ideal for someone who is analytical, strategic, naturally curious, and enjoys partnering with business leaders to solve complex problems.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary FP&A business partner to the Sales organization, providing financial guidance and actionable insights to support business decisions.
  • Partner with Sales leadership and the Operations team to develop headcount plans aligned with sales targets and business needs.
  • Own operating expense planning and forecasting for the Sales organization, with a focus on personnel costs and other discretionary spend.
  • Own the ACV forecast by tracking bookings, analyzing pipeline trends and key business drivers, and reporting performance against targets across segments and regions.
  • Support the month end close process by analyzing actuals, investigating variances, partnering with Accounting, and delivering monthly and quarterly financial reporting and insights against plan.
  • Build, maintain, and enhance financial models that support strategic planning, investment decisions, and scenario analysis.
  • Identify opportunities to improve planning processes, reporting, and forecasting through automation and process enhancements.
  • Support strategic initiatives, ad hoc analyses, and executive requests while developing and tracking key operational and efficiency metrics to drive business performance.
WHO YOU ARE
  • 3+ years of Finance or FP&A experience, preferably in a high-growth SaaS or technology company
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Collaborative business partner with strong cross-functional relationship-building skills
  • Strong financial modeling skills and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to analyze large datasets, identify trends, and deliver actionable business insights
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement
  • Experience with Adaptive Insights, Salesforce, Pigment, Looker, or NetSuite is a plus

For candidates based in the United States, the pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $64,000 and $101,000/year, with an expected On Target Earnings (OTE) between $73,000 and $104,000/year (including bonus or commission). Your exact offer may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to cash compensation, this role qualifies for a comprehensive Total Rewards package that includes equity grants of restricted stock (RSUs) so that you will own a piece of our company.
