Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Financial Analyst to join our FOAA leasing team in Seattle. You will support month-end close, create and analyze reconciliations, and assist with reporting systems and policies to ensure accuracy and controls.

Successful candidates will have a CA qualification and 0–4 years post-qualification experience in finance, with strong Excel and SQL skills. Excellent communication and teamwork are essential in our fast-paced environment.

Amazon's Finance Operations, Accounting & Analysis (FOAA) team is a fast-paced, team-focused, dynamic environment and delivering great experiences for our customers is top priority.

FOAA is seeking a Financial Analyst to support our leasing team. This position will support management in all aspects of financial accounting, reporting systems, procedures, and policies which includes performing month end activities that include closing of sub ledgers, general ledger account reconciliations, reporting and balance sheet account analysis.

Successful candidate will also ensure appropriate financial policies, procedures, and internal controls are in place, documented, and operating as intended.

This position will also play an important role in promoting systems/process development within the department to ensure ongoing efficiency and control improvements. The successful candidate will have a strong desire to innovate processes and exceed expectations in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Knowledge & Skills/ Business Acumen/ Education & Experience –
  1. CA qualification is a requirement
  2. Prior experience in Retail or Market Place or Financial Retail Services is recommended
  3. Strong interpersonal skills — including written and oral communication skills.
  4. Zeal towards operational excellence/process improvement & simplifications
  5. Excellent knowledge of financial controls and procedures
  6. Advanced level Excel and knowledge of SQL will be preferred
  7. Experience of Oracle and Blackline Reconciliation tool. Flexible, adaptable, well organized
  8. Knowledge of Six Sigma defect reduction techniques (Lean, etc.) preferred
  9. Should have strong team skills and Self-motivated, enthusiastic and highly energetic.
Key job responsibilities

Amazon's Finance Operations, Accounting & Analysis (FOAA) team is a fast-paced, team-focused, dynamic environment and delivering great experiences for our customers is top priority. FOAA is seeking a Staff Accountant to support our leasing team.

The responsibilities include month-end closing activities for multiple sub ledgers, manual journals, pre-recon and other analyses, preparation of monthly/quarterly/annual reconciliations and balance sheet analysis, and reporting.

This position will support the management in all aspects of financial accounting,reporting systems, procedures, and policies.

This position will play an important role in promoting systems/process development within department to ensure efficiency and control improvements.

Basic qualifications
  1. Experience using data to influence business decisions
  2. CA with 0-4yrs of post-qualification experience in Month end closing of Books of accounts / working on various Sub-ledgers / Accounting Knowledge / Balance sheet Reconciliation & Reporting activities
  3. Knowledge of standard software including Excel, Access, Oracle, Essbase, SQL and VBA skills
  4. Experience in corporate finance including budgeting/planning, forecasting and reporting is a plus.
Preferred qualifications
  1. Good communication skills
  2. Good articulation skill
  3. Well versed with excel
