Job summary

The University of Miami seeks a Financial Analyst 1 in the Rosenstiel School to develop and maintain reports, monitor budgets and project year-end outcomes. You will manage over fifty accounts, review salary transactions and purchase requests, and advise on expenditures to support faculty research and operations.

You will train staff on financial systems, enforce policies, and collaborate on space and equipment reporting.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field is required.
Strong background with computer applications, excellent Excel skills, accounting and financial analysis.
At least three years of progressively responsible experience, preferably in an academic and research setting.

Responsibilities

Develop, analyze and maintain reports based on current and historical data; review budgets and analyze trends; provide year-end projections.
Manage over fifty operating accounts and ensure monitoring, reconciliation and expenditure control.
Review and approve salary transactions, reimbursements, capital equipment acquisitions, journal entries, and purchase orders.
Meet with faculty to provide updates and forecasting for expenditures and allocations.
Train faculty and staff on financial systems and enforce policies and procedures.
Collaborate on space allocation reporting and space utilization analysis; provide reports on allocations.
