Paramount is seeking a Financial Analyst to support the CBS News, Stations, and CMV Digital divisions. You will help ensure forecast accuracy, manage monthly operating expenses, and drive data-driven decisions within a dynamic, global media environment.

The role offers exposure to evolving streaming platforms and opportunities to deliver actionable financial insights across multiple business units. Strong Excel/Sheets skills and communication abilities are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 2+ years in finance, accounting, or similar quantitative role; media/entertainment/tech a plus.
• Advanced Excel/Spreadsheet skills and strong analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Budgeting/Forecasting: develop models to forecast monthly P&L and drive annual budgets for CBS News, Stations, and CMV Digital Properties.
• Collaborate with Accounting for monthly close preparation.
• Manage month-end accruals, contracts, and invoices.
• Oversee expense management, risk analysis, and mitigation.
• Monitor cost controls to maintain profitability and achieve targets.
• Work with Inventory & Pricing, BI, Business Development, and Production teams for forecasts.
• Prepare ad hoc financial analyses for internal reviews and quick decision-making.
• Provide strategic financial insights aligned with business goals.

Overview & Responsibilities

The Financial Analyst will support the CBS News, Stations, and CBS Media Venture(CMV) Digital division and report to the Director, FP&A. The Analyst will assist in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of forecasts and budgets, tracking performance, managing monthly operating expenses, and using analysis to drive informed decision-making. This position offers the right candidate an exemplary opportunity within a successful and growing global media organization to gain wide-ranging exposure to the evolving streaming platforms. The Financial Analyst (News, Stations & CBS Media Venture) will help contribute by spearheading quantitative and qualitative analyses to optimize financial performance.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Budgeting/Forecasting: Work on business models to manage forecasting of the monthly P&L and drive the annual budget and financial plans for CBS News, Stations, and CMV Digital Properties
• Work with Accounting in preparation for monthly close
• Manage month-end accruals, contracts, and invoices
• Expense management, risk analysis, and mitigation
• Actively monitor expense levers and cost controls required to maintain profitability and achieve budgeted profit targets
• Collaborate closely with the following teams: Inventory & Pricing, Business Intelligence, Business Development, and Production. Gain insight and knowledge that may impact the forecast
• Ad Hoc Analysis: Prepare financial data and various requests as needed and provide actionable analysis for internal review and rapid decision-making
• This role is pivotal in delivering strategic, financial, and operational insights that align with the goals of the business

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree
• 2+ years of work experience in finance, accounting, or similar quantitative role; media, entertainment, and/or technology experience a plus

Additional Qualifications

• High proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace suite skills, particularly Excel/Sheets and Powerpoint/Slides
• Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and analytical skills
• A willingness and quick ability to learn new software
• Advanced knowledge in Oracle Financials a plus
• Excellent communication and presentation skills - be able to handle and synthesize large datasets to deliver critical insights in an easy-to-digest format for management and external partners
• Ability to work autonomously in a dynamic environment

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $64,800.00 - 85,000.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
