The Financial Analyst/Associate Financial Analyst will serve as a key finance partner to the Casey’s Merchandising organization while also supporting broader company financial analysis and reporting. This role will help translate financial and operational data into clear insights that support business decisions, identify opportunities, and improve company performance.

The ideal candidate is highly analytical, comfortable working with large and complex data sets, and able to turn detailed analysis into clear, actionable recommendations. This individual will build financial models, analyze business performance, develop recurring and ad hoc reporting, and help communicate results and key drivers to Finance, Merchandising, and senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to provide financial analysis and decision support across sales, margin, expenses, and other key business drivers
  • Analyze company performance, including actual results, forecasts, plans, prior-year performance, trends, and key variances
  • Develop financial models and scenario analysis to evaluate business opportunities, initiatives and other strategic decisions
  • Leverage Excel, Power BI, and other analytical tools to organize large data sets, identify trends, and communicate meaningful business insights
  • Translate complex financial and operational information into concise summaries
  • Support forecasting, budgeting, long-range planning, and other Finance Analytics processes
  • Respond to ad hoc analytical requests from Finance, Merchandising, and company leadership
  • Work collaboratively across Finance and other functional areas to ensure consistency and accuracy of financial information

Compensation :

Starting pay range for the Analyst Level: $64,500 - $84,600. Actual pay may vary based on Casey ’ s assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, and qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include local prevailing wages and internal equity. This position is eligible for an annual cash bonus based on company performance. Our full salary range for this role does extend beyond the hiring range listed, allowing team members the opportunity to continue to grow within the company. This role could be filled at the associate or analyst levels depending on background and experience.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Economics or Management Information Systems or equivalent work-related experience.
  • One to three years of work-related business experience (t his role could be filled at the associate or analyst levels depending on background and experience).
  • Knowledge and understanding of accounting principles and financial modeling concepts required.
  • Proficient in Excel or EPM systems (formulas, functions, and data structuring).
  • Proficient in interpreting information (especially financial) from all data sources, internal or external.
  • Proficient analytical and data gathering / modeling skills.
  • Effective in regular autonomous direct engagement of Managers and occasionally Directors with appropriate professional skepticism and negotiation.
  • Executes decision making and approval processes followed by company leadership to optimize usage/safeguard company assets.
  • Effective verbal communication and presentation abilities with proficiency working in a dynamic, fast-paced, and ambiguous environment
  • Ability to handle complex and confidential information with the appropriate levels of discretion
