The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority seeks a Financial Analyst to support financial planning and decision-making. You will assist in budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, while collaborating across departments to ensure compliance and identify process improvements.
This position requires a Bachelor's degree and 3+ years in financial analysis. The analyst will monitor budgets, analyze variances, and help develop financial models to support long-term planning initiatives.

Reporting to the Director of Budget & Planning, the Financial Analyst supports financial planning and decision-making through budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and data analysis. The role works closely with academic and administrative departments to monitor performance, control costs, and ensure compliance, while identifying opportunities to improve processes and systems. A core responsibility is managing position control (roster tracking) to align staffing plans with budgets and support informed resource decisions. The Financial Analyst also provides Workday support and training and contributes to the institution’s long‑term financial sustainability.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
Experience:
3+ years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or accounting, preferably in a higher education or public sector environment.
