Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking a billing specialist to support multi-million, multi-year construction projects. The role focuses on complex monthly cost-reimbursable billings, contract compliance, and audit readiness.

You will review transactions, ensure backup accuracy, and prepare schedules to support audits while collaborating with project teams. Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with 2+ years of experience, strong Excel skills, and a proven ability to manage deadlines

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Produce complex monthly cost reimbursable billings, ensuring compliance with contractual invoicing terms.
• Review transactions daily and resolve issues.
• Review invoice backup for accuracy, compliance, and completeness.
• Prepare billing backup schedules as needed.
• Audit billed vs actual costs to maximize recovery.
• Ensure external audit compliance.
• Collaborate with project management to respond to customer audit inquiries.
• Assist the financial manager to keep project cash positive through monthly accruals.
• Prepare ad-hoc billing reports as needed.

Responsibilities

This position will report to the HQ or project site 100% of the time. We are looking to expand our finance team to support multi-million, multi-year large-scale construction projects. The successful candidate will perform the following activities daily/periodically:

• Produce complex monthly cost reimbursable billings, ensuring compliance with contractual invoicing terms.
  • Review transactions daily and resolve issues timely.
  • Review system collected/generated invoice backup for accuracy, compliance, and completeness.
  • Prepare billing backup schedules as needed.
  • Perform audit of the billed vs actual cost to ensure maximum recovery.
  • Ensure external audit compliance.
  • Engage with project management team to be able to answer questions from the customer's audit team members.
  • Work with financial manager to keep the project cash positive through monthly accruals.
  • Prepare ad-hoc billing reports as needed.

Qualifications

Experience:

• The incumbent must have two years of related experience.
• Knowledge of general accounting principles.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Attention to detail in completing work tasks.
• Ability to work independently and manage own deadlines.
• Strong organization, communication, and analytical skills.
• Use of accounting principles to solve problems.

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or related field with 2+ years of experience

Pay Range: USD $78,320.00 - USD $117,480.00 /Yr.
