Job summary

Springfield Clinic is seeking a Financial Analyst to assist in special financial projects, analyses, and feasibility studies, performing research, system overviews, and observations of financial functions to enhance operational efficiencies and accuracy.

Responsibilities include providing analytical support for compensation accounting, forecasting, compiling financial reports, improving processes, and delivering timely, accurate reporting to support budget and strategic planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required, advanced degree preferred.
• Required to attend in-service classes or workshops relevant to job.

• Compile and analyze financial reports and identify discrepancies that require senior management attention.
• Research and resolve business unit inquiries.
• Prepare financial reports, charts, tables and other exhibits as requested.
• Responsible for performing special projects to improve process efficiency and performance projects as assigned by management.
• Provide timely, relevant and accurate reporting and analysis of the results of the division's performance against historical, budgeted, forecasted and strategic planning results to facilitate decision-making toward the achievement of the budget and strategic plan.
• Maintain and develop various financial models and standard templates distributed for use by all of Finance during the planning process, ensuring quality, accuracy and focused on analytic review.

Job Relationships

• Reports to the Director of Clinical Research

Principal Responsibilities

• Provide financial and analytical support for compensation accounting and forecasting process.


• Compile and analyze financial reports and identify discrepancies that require senior management attention.


• Research and resolve business unit inquiries.


• Prepare financial reports, charts, tables and other exhibits as requested.

• Adhere to all OSHA and Springfield Clinic training & accomplishments as required per policy.

Education/Experience

• Perform other job duties as assigned.


• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required, advanced degree preferred.


• Required to attend in-service classes or workshops relevant to job.

Minimum Two (2) Years Financial Analysis Experience Required

• Minimum two (2) to four (4) years accounting/analytical experience required.

Excellent Written And Verbal Communication Skills Required

• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.


• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from physicians, managers, employees, business associates, and the general public.


• Must have extremely strong MS Excel skills.
