Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Month End Close Support – assist in month end close including preparing monthly journal entries and performing variance analysis
• Budget Preparation/Support/Monitoring - prepare forecasts and detailed department budgets and analyze actual vs budgeted performance
• Problem Resolution - analyze data and make recommendations considering broader organizational needs
• Special Projects - develop understanding of project scope and prepare summary analysis and recommendations
• Coordination - coordinate with auditors and prepare annual IRS tax returns/forms

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Financial Analyst you will apply your financial expertise to support strategic goals and ensure optimal fiscal health across our organization. This pivotal role is essential for maintaining robust financial processes and contributing to sound economic decision-making.

Every day you will analyze critical financial data, interpret complex information, and clearly communicate findings and recommendations to various stakeholders. You will be instrumental in ensuring accuracy and compliance in all financial processes, contributing to our overall operational efficiency and strategic planning. Your work will directly impact revenue optimization and expenditure management.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate strong financial analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities. We are seeking a proactive professional with a solid understanding of financial modeling, reporting, and compliance, capable of guiding informed financial decisions and serving as a trusted resource for financial insights.

• Month End Close Support – Assist in the month end financial close for the hospitals including preparing monthly journal entries, perform financial and variance analysis including expense analysis and revenue analysis. Prepare lead schedules monthly showing drill down on P&L accounts to provide explanation of monthly financial performance.


• Budget Preparation/Support/Monitoring - Prepare financial forecasts using modeling software. Prepare detailed department budgets. Review and analyze actual vs. budgeted performance. Work with departments to develop action plans to reduce budget variances. Prepare analysis of capital projects using modeling software.


• Problem Resolution - Demonstrates ability to see beyond own area/department to broader, total organization needs. Completely analyzes all data and takes all issues into consideration before making recommendations. Handles unanticipated events and crisis situations in a positive, constructive manner. Effectively uses verbal, nonverbal and written communication skills. Suggests new and innovative procedures and ideas on improving job and hospital services. Demonstrates the ability to recognize the practical significance of situations encountered.


• Special Projects - Performs special projects as assigned. Develops complete understanding of the purpose and scope of the project. Gathers and performs analysis of all relevant information. Prepares summary analysis, recommendations and presentation package for review. Performs any necessary follow-up or review.


• Coordination - Coordinate with auditors in performance of annual audits. Coordinate/prepare annual IRS tax returns/forms. Maintains confidentiality of hospital information.

Job Requirements

Required:

• Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or closely related Field

Preferred:

• Five Years experience in a Finance or Accounting Position


• 3 Years in a Hospital Setting
