Airbus Aerosystems Kinston is seeking a Financial Analyst to join our Finance team based in Kinston, NC. The role involves performing financial analysis of administration projects and business performance, supporting financial analysis assignments, recommending and implementing changes in analysis and budgeting methods, and preparing financial reports for senior management.

Responsibilities

• Conduct financial analysis of administration projects and business performance.
• Recommend and implement changes in analysis and budgetary methods and procedures.
• Analyze and interpret financial data, and prepare financial reports.
• Provide senior management with information on revenue and cost variances.
• Participate in special projects and prepare financial data as required.

Key Duties

• Data Analysis and Reporting (70%)
  • Act as a business partner to functional leaders, guiding through data analysis of actual and forecasted spend.
  • Review expenses, prepare cost reports, analyze variances that exceed budget, and alert controllers.
  • Develop, implement, and update financial reporting to meet current business needs.
  • Create and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, ensuring accuracy.
  • Perform financial forecasting and modeling, identifying trends and patterns.
  • Ensure adherence to CAPEX financial processes and procedures.
  • Extract and reconcile general ledger, balance sheet information, and create finance KPIs.
  • Forecast functional operational expenses, unit costs, balance sheet accounts, and cash flows for specific work packages.
• Month End Close and Audit (20%)
  • Support month‑end close processes and reconcile actuals for accuracy.
  • Adhere to financial processes and assist with on‑site audits.
  • Validate purchase orders against approved budgets.
• Other Duties (10%)
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of finance and/or accounting experience.
• Ability to develop, communicate, and make recommendations to business partners independently.
• Strong understanding of income statement and balance sheet, preferably in manufacturing.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain variances for various KPIs.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Preferred

• Experience with SAP.
