Position Description

Serve as an analyst on project team, maintaining analytical guidance for the project team and manager, and performing related assigned tasks to the engagement. The Financial Analyst (FA) will develop applicable financial models, assist in the creation of presentations, and accumulate pertinent data to aid project Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in the completion of system oriented‑financial statement audit readiness tasks. The FA position will assist the SMEs in providing overall client support to become CFO Act compliant and achieve audit readiness pursuant to FIAR guidance.

Responsibilities
  • Develop financial/IT auditing models as directed by project SMEs in support of achieving and maintaining audit readiness, pursuant to FIAR guidance.
  • Assist SMEs in organizing pertinent system documentation, while learning how to conduct FISCAM and/or Blue Book system assessments.
  • Analyze software systems and document requirements per FIAR methodology.
  • Serve as apprentice for project SMEs to learn how to identify methods to improve system processes, controls, and documentation through system improvements.
  • Assist with sustainment of audit readiness of legacy systems
  • Participate as available to develop mitigation/remediation plans based upon weaknesses identified by project SMEs.
  • Assist in the development of system presentations during required review and approval processes.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial/auditing reports, recommendations, and/or Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) based upon guidance received from the project SMEs.
Formal Education & Certification
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or other technical field from an accredited college or university with at least 6 semester hours in accounting required.
  • CPA or CISA Certification or CPA or CISA candidate desired.
  • Continuing Professional Education in accordance with the Yellow Book.
  • Minimum of 2 years of audit, accounting, or financial and management advisory services experience – direct experience working with DoD or Federal Agencies in support of FIAR initiatives will be looked upon favorably.
Knowledge & Experience
  • Demonstrate a keen knowledge of Microsoft Office Software Suite products required (specific focus on Excel and PowerPoint will be critical).
  • Extensive practical knowledge in importing data for use in report software, spreadsheets, graphs, and flow charts required.
  • Familiarity DoD Federal Information Systems Controls Audit Manual (FISCAM) and familiarity with DFAS 7900.4-M, Financial Systems Requirement Manual (Blue Book) requirements required.
  • Familiarity with DoD Financial Management and/or Oracle Federal Financials is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with OUSD(C) FIAR Guidance is required.
  • Experience working in a team‑oriented, collaborative environment required.
  • Excellent understanding of organizational goals and objectives desired.

  • May be required to travel in support of system development.
  • Sitting for extended periods of time.

Position requires the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
