Job description

Build Your Finance Career at a Fast Growing Surgical Center & Healthcare Brand

Join our patient-centered healthcare team as a Financial Analyst and gain broad, hands‑on experience in accounting, management reporting, financial analysis, and healthcare operations. Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, you’ll support core accounting processes, prepare financial and operational reporting, investigate performance drivers, and work with operational leaders — including Revenue Cycle Management, Clinic Operations, ASC Operations, Purchasing, Administration, and Rural Health — on practical business questions across multiple entities, locations, and service lines.

What sets this opportunity apart?

This is a development-oriented, early‑career role with meaningful exposure to both recurring accounting work and higher‑level analysis, backed by direct mentorship from the Director of Finance. You’ll learn how transactions flow into financial results, how operating decisions affect performance, and how accurate information supports better decisions — with scope that can expand quickly as you demonstrate accuracy, initiative, judgment, and ownership.

Why This Role is an Opportunity
  • Receive direct mentorship from the Director of Finance and broad exposure to accounting, reporting, business analysis, and healthcare operations.
  • Enjoy predictable outpatient hours and flexible scheduling, with no weekends or major holidays.
  • Build practical skills quickly in a high‑growth environment, with responsibility expanding as performance and judgment develop.
  • Work hands‑on with AI and automation tools to improve accounting, analysis, and reporting workflows.
  • Gain exposure to the full scope of a growing, physician‑led multispecialty organization, including its rural healthcare initiatives.
Duties/Responsibilities
Accounting and Financial Operations
  • Support accounting for multiple related entities using QuickBooks Online and supporting systems.
  • Assist with monthly close activities, including journal entries, accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and intercompany activity under the direction of the Director of Finance.
  • Prepare bank, credit‑card, accounts‑payable, and selected balance‑sheet reconciliations.
  • Manage day‑to‑day accounts payable activities, including invoice review, coding, approval routing, payment tracking, vendor follow‑up, and supporting documentation.
  • Confirm that expenses are recorded in the correct entity, account, location, department, and reporting period.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and investigate missing invoices, credits, duplicate charges, unapplied payments, and other discrepancies.
  • Maintain clear schedules supporting the monthly close, financial statements, audits, tax preparation, and other reporting needs.
  • Help improve accounting procedures, documentation, and controls as the organization grows.
Financial Reporting and Analysis
  • Prepare recurring financial statements, management reports, and concise summaries for leadership.
  • Maintain budget‑to‑actual reporting and explain significant revenue, expense, and volume variances.
  • Analyze performance by entity, location, department, provider, vendor, and service line.
  • Assist with budgets, forecasts, financial models, cost analyses, and focused business cases.
  • Reconcile source data to financial and operational reports before distribution.
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities and explain the business drivers behind the numbers.
  • Develop leadership‑ready reports that are accurate, concise, and understandable to non‑financial stakeholders.
  • Complete ad hoc financial analyses and respond to time‑sensitive leadership requests.
Operational Partnership and Improvement
  • Partner with operational leaders to understand workflows, validate data, and connect financial results with day‑to‑day business activity.
  • Develop and maintain selected operating reports for volumes, productivity, scheduling, utilization, revenue cycle, purchasing, and other key measures.
  • Use invoice, purchasing, inventory, and operating data to understand expense trends, unit‑cost changes, consumption patterns, and vendor performance.
  • Identify practical opportunities to reduce waste, improve processes, consolidate purchasing, strengthen vendor terms, and support negotiations.
  • Assist with selected projects involving new services, locations, vendors, rural health initiatives, and other growth priorities.
  • Approach new assignments with a can‑do attitude, take ownership of follow‑up, and communicate findings and next steps clearly.
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Working knowledge of financial accounting principles and the relationship among the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement.
  • AI‑forward mindset required, including demonstrated ability and initiative in using generative AI and automation tools to improve accounting, analysis, reporting, documentation, and workflows, while validating outputs, protecting confidential information, and using sound judgment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets, including formulas, lookups, pivot tables, and data organization.
  • Strong analytical, critical‑thinking, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a demonstrated commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to reconcile data, identify discrepancies, and investigate their causes.
  • Ability to interpret data and communicate conclusions clearly in writing and conversation.
  • Ability to manage recurring deadlines and multiple assignments in a growing environment.
  • Genuine interest in healthcare operations and in understanding how financial results connect to day‑to‑day business activity.
  • Initiative, curiosity, reliable follow‑through, and a willingness to learn unfamiliar systems and processes.

  • Experience building spreadsheets, financial models, dashboards, or management reports through work or academic projects preferred.
  • A high‑growth environment where an early‑career professional can build practical skills, work directly with finance and operational leaders, and take on broader responsibility as performance and judgment develop
  • Predictable outpatient hours and flexible scheduling when possible
  • Seven paid holidays
  • Two weeks of PTO and three sick days
