Job summary

Kimball Electronics Jasper is seeking a Manufacturing Finance Analyst to support the accuracy of financial statements, month-end close, and inventory management. You will analyze operational spending, prepare routine reports, and collaborate across departments to drive cost improvements.

The role requires a degree in accounting/finance and experience with SAP and Excel. MBA or professional certifications are a plus, with a focus on continuous improvement and Six Sigma practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or equivalent work experience.
  • MBA, CMA, CPA, or APICS certification preferred but not required.
  • 1–3+ years related experience in manufacturing finance or operational accounting.
  • Experience with SAP and Microsoft Excel.
  • Detail oriented with strong problem solving and communication.

  • Support the accuracy of financial statements and month-end closing.
  • Perform accounting for inventory and spend analysis.
  • Navigate SAP and other critical applications.
  • Prepare monthly, daily, and weekly business reports.
  • Develop dashboards and improvement projects.

  • Back up tariff processing tasks and price requests.
  • Identify process gaps and implement solutions.

Job description

  • Support the accuracy of financial statements for Kimball Electronics Jasper
  • Support the month-end closing process and internal controls structure
  • Provide accurate financial data for management decision-making and Corporate Accounting reporting
  • Perform accounting activities and reporting for business-unit inventory and inventory management
  • Monitor operational spending through monthly analysis and reporting to drive operating-income performance
  • Learn and perform month-end processes required for accurate financial statements
  • Navigate important transactions in SAP and other critical applications and systems
  • Work with inventory processes, including weekly reporting
  • Own the record-retention process
  • Generate monthly operational spending analysis and reporting
  • Learn and perform 6S audits
  • Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly business reports
  • Work with the standard cost system
  • Help lead, manage, and perform Excess & Obsolete Inventory reviews
  • Manage, analyze, and report on Customer Tooling
  • Support Rapid Prototype / New Product Introduction with KE Jasper
  • Perform customer profitability reporting and analysis
  • Develop dashboards and improvement projects
  • Support the BU Controller with monthly financial reporting activities
  • Back up Tariff Processing tasks and Special Price Requests
  • Maintain the SPR internal web application as backup functional application owner
  • Back up the Finance Analyst (Quote Specialist) on quote and customer profitability processes
  • Assist Supply Chain with inventory management and control
  • Recommend business-unit cost-structure improvements
  • Cross-train with other Financial Analyst team members
  • Identify business-process gaps and errors and recommend solutions
  • Support enhancements and development of relevant business tools and systems
  • Improve business processes for efficiency and effectiveness
  • Achieve Yellow and Green Belt Certification in KEJ's Six Sigma Program
  • Respond to audit inquiries and support internal control processes and reviews
  • Manage decision-support ad hoc projects through completion
  • Recommend customer cost-down opportunities
  • Act as a change agent focused on continuous improvement and innovation
Requirements
  • Minimum of 1 to 3+ years related work experience required
  • Ideal candidate will have Manufacturing Finance / Operational Accounting experience
  • Ability to work with different departments and all levels of the business
  • Detail oriented and emphasis on complete & accurate results
  • Problem solving / analyzing and interpreting data
  • Strong communication skills across all different functions of the business unit
  • Capacity to request and gather information proficiently
  • Ability to be self-motivated and self-directed, takes initiative
  • Customer driven and focused, both internal and external
  • A bachelor's degree (typically accounting or finance) or equivalent work experience
  • Helpful, but not required are an MBA, CMA, CPA, or APICS (manufacturing) certifications
  • Cost Accounting and Standard Cost experience in a manufacturing environment a plus
  • Experience in Microsoft Office product, especially Excel, required
  • Helpful, but not required knowledge of SAP
  • No Visa sponsorship is being offered for this position
