Job summary

Apex Fintech Solutions is seeking a Financial Analyst to join our finance team in Chicago. You will optimize financial processes, build assumption-based models, and deliver insights that influence strategic decisions.

You will develop complex financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning, work with operations and tech to improve reporting, and present findings to stakeholders with clear data visuals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field.
• 1–3 years of financial analysis or related experience.
• Experience with financial modeling, budgeting, and expense management.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THIS ROLE

Job Summary:

The Financial Analyst is a pivotal role in our finance department, optimizing financial processes and systems to drive business performance. This position is responsible for examining financial data, identifying trends, and providing insights that guide strategic decisions. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs, develop assumption-based financial models, and implement solutions that improve financial efficiency and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Modeling and Analysis:

• Develop complex financial models to support strategic initiatives, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
• Analyze current and past financial data and performance to make recommendations on profit enhancement.

Process Improvement:

• Identify inefficiencies in financial processes and develop solutions to enhance business operations and reporting accuracy.
• Implement best practices in financial systems and controls, ensuring compliance with regulations.

Reporting and Data Visualization:

• Prepare detailed financial reports and dashboards for management, highlighting trends, forecasts, and financial performance.
• Enhance data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for conveying a succinct, comprehensive financial message.

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Work closely with management to prioritize business and information needs and translate business requirements into system requirements.
• Act as the liaison between finance, operations, and technology departments to enhance systems and interfaces.

Project Management:

• Lead and participate in projects that enhance the capability of the finance function, managing timelines, scope, and project risks.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in financial analysis, business analysis, or a related field.
• Proven experience with financial modeling, budgeting, and expense management.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Finance or Business Administration.
• Experience leveraging AI tools (particularly Claude) for innovation, automation, and enhanced financial analysis
• Strong proficiency in financial software systems like Oracle NetSuite, SAP, or similar ERP systems.
• Advanced skills in MS Excel, including pivot tables, v-lookups, and macros

Salary Range

$80,546-$100,683

The annual base salary range for this position is noted above. Exact compensation offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and office location.
