RFCUNY Research Foundation of the City University of New York is seeking a Financial Postsecondary Counselor for Baruch College to support the Fall 2026 program with Saturday sessions from 10am to 2pm, providing one-on-one counseling and small group workshops.

The role focuses on helping students with college access, financial literacy, FAFSA and CSS Profile understanding, and preparing award letters while engaging parents with resources.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Availability from 10am-2pm each Saturday session.
  • Experience providing student counseling sessions and facilitate parent workshops.
  • Background in college access counseling, specializing in financial literacy and preparedness.
  • Possess good interpersonal skills with teenagers and parents.
  • Preferred: Current college counselor/advisor.
  • Familiarity with working with diverse student populations (first generation, immigrant, minority, and low-income).
  • Experience working in schools, college access programs, or community based organizations.
  • Only candidates that submit a cover letter will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Create, track, and revise individual academic plans and discuss career aspiration during one-on-one and small group counseling sessions.
  • Lead student workshop sessions on college preparation, financial literacy (including understanding FAFSA and CSS Profiles, financial aid and award letters, and college cents, and career readiness).
  • Develop and facilitate workshops to provide parents with resources to advocate for and support their child's education.
  • Assist with the advisory committee and parent group.
  • Collaborate with staff on assessing program's college and career readiness offerings.
  • Other duties as assigned.
