Job summary

Herzing University seeks a dedicated financial aid administrator to support student funding needs and manage Title IV processes. You will guide students through FAFSA, award adjustments, and disbursement troubleshooting while ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Revise financial aid award packages due to updates such as changes in course schedules, approved breaks, eligibility changes, and other factors.
• Troubleshoot disbursement rejects and resolve factors preventing timely disbursement of funding.
• Dedication to continuous improvement especially in the areas of student satisfaction and accuracy.
• Meet with new students to understand funding needs, provide guidance on FAFSA and required documents, and review funding options including Federal Title IV funds, scholarships, state funding, and military funds.
• Utilize financial aid software to review student documents and eligibility criteria to finalize financial aid awards.
• Provide gap funding options to students and support students in determining the best option to meet their financial needs.
• Counsel students on financial literacy and wellness to encourage responsible borrowing.
• Manage a student caseload and build relationships to resolve matters related to financial aid funding.
• Perform regular outreach to students requiring action including needed documents, loan acceptance, and past due balances.

This position involves performing high level customer service and a working knowledge of financial aid, student accounts and registrar regulations and departmental policies and procedures.

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8.5 hour shifts are variable, 30-minute lunch. (start times available as early as 8AM and later shift can run until 7PM)

If final candidate is located near Milwaukee, a hybrid schedule will be determined.

Requirements:

COMPENSATION is determined based on the qualifications, experience, and circumstances of each hire. It is uncommon for new employees to start near the top of the salary range. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including a tuition waiver and reimbursement program, health insurance, paid time off, and a retirement savings plan. The hourly pay range for this position is $21.74 to $29.41.

• Utilize financial aid software to review student documents and eligibility criteria to finalize financial aid awards.
• Provide gap funding options to students and support students in determining the best option to meet their financial needs and support their educational goals.
• Counsel students on financial literacy and wellness topics for the purpose of educating and encouraging responsible borrowing practices.
• Manage a student caseload, striving to build relationships and support students in resolving all matters related to their financial aid funding.
• Perform regular outreach to students requiring action including needed documents, loan acceptance, and past due balances.

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position majority of the time.
