Job summary

OnPath FCU is seeking a Financial Advocate to build relationships with members, present personalized solutions, and promote products that improve their financial well‑being. You will handle routine transactions, process deposits and loans, and deliver exceptional service in a fast‑paced, member‑facing environment.

We have open Financial Advocate positions with the initial salary of $17.00 to $19.81/hour, with consideration for skills and experience plus incentives. Financial Advocates have the opportunity to grow within the organization to the position that becomes their passion.

SCOPE

As a dedicated member of the OnPath FCU team, this role performs a variety of tasks that, in partnership with surrounding departments, provides cost‑effective financial services for the benefit of our members who are our primary focus. PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

The Financial Advocate is responsible for providing exceptional member service by having genuine and positive interactions with our members in order to handle routine transactions and assess best products and services to improve their financial situation. This role involves accurately processing transactions, maintaining cash integrity, and promoting the credit union's products and services. The financial advocate serves as a front‑line representative, ensuring a positive member experience in a fast‑paced environment.

The Financial Advocate will assist employees and all appropriate internal credit union partners, conduct daily business interactions, and maintain alignment with OnPath's mission, culture, and core values. The advocate encourages others to act with mission, culture, and core values in mind, demonstrates initiative and sound judgment, and supports the credit union's goals. The advocate builds rapport and expands relationships with all members, staying informed on products and services to provide the right recommendations at the right time, and promotes a positive image of the credit union to peers, members, and the community.

As an E.P.I.I.C. Team Member of OnPath FCU, you will play a vital role delivering the member experience daily to over 90,000 members, making a difference in peoples' lives while contributing back to the community you live in.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
  • Greets and assists every member with a friendly, positive, and professional demeanor.
  • Possesses a genuine passion for helping people.
  • Accurately processes deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments, and other transactions; researches, troubleshoots, and resolves member and internal inquiries regarding policies, practices and products.
  • Conducts consultative conversations to cross‑sell opportunities such as checking accounts, personal and auto loans, credit cards, refinances, debt consolidation loans and refers mortgage and commercial loans to the appropriate departments.
  • Able to effectively communicate information on credit union products and services and meet or exceed referral and sales goals set by the branch.
  • Able to understand and interpret credit reports in order to offer the best solutions to our members.
  • Able to efficiently process loan documents.
  • Assists with branch opening and closing procedures; prepares currency and coin for shipment; verifies cash drawers, currency shipments, and vault totals; supports branch operations by performing administrative tasks and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Participates in training sessions and team meetings to stay informed about policies and procedures.
  • Adheres to all credit union policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements; follows security procedures to protect against fraud and ensure member confidentiality; reports any suspicious activity or potential security breaches to management.
  • Completes all other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE

- Up to 6 months of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.
- Experience in a sales and/or customer service environment.

EDUCATION AND LICENSES
  • High school education or GED.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS

Professional courtesy and tact are essential elements of the job. The work involves personal contact with customers and others inside and outside the organization, generally regarding fairly routine matters for providing and obtaining information, updating or referring.

OTHER SKILLS
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, statutes, regulations, codes, and standards related to the area of responsibility is necessary.
  • Proficiency with database software and the MS Office suite is also required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
