Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in wealth management or financial planning.
  • Strong knowledge of retirement, investment, tax, and estate planning concepts.
  • Ability to manage multiple client relationships and planning engagements.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Desire to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Willingness to work in Sonoma County at least three days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships.
  • Deliver personalized financial planning recommendations in client meetings.
  • Coordinate with attorneys, accountants and insurers.
  • Provide proactive follow-up and high-touch service.
  • Contribute to development and presentation of comprehensive financial plans.
  • Review portfolios and perform investment analyses with the team.
  • Assist in implementing planning recommendations with external professionals.
  • Identify planning opportunities across retirement, taxes, estate planning and cash flow.

We are a boutique Sonoma County wealth management team providing personalized, high-touch service, thoughtful investment management, and comprehensive financial planning. As our firm grows, we are seeking an experienced Financial Advisor / Wealth Advisor to help clients make confident financial decisions and deepen the trusted relationships we have built with them and their families.

Position Overview

The Financial Advisor / Wealth Advisor will work closely with the firm’s existing advisors to deliver comprehensive planning, relationship management, and investment guidance. The role emphasizes planning excellence and client service rather than prospecting. Business development is not a core requirement, although professional networking, referral relationships, and a strong community presence are valued.

Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain long-term trusted relationships with clients and their families
  • Take part in client meetings and deliver personalized financial planning recommendations
  • Coordinate communications with clients and their professional advisors, including attorneys, accountants, and insurance professionals
  • Provide proactive follow-up and ongoing service to ensure exceptional client experiences
  • Contribute to development and presentation of comprehensive financial plans
  • Analyze and work with the team to provide recommendations related to: Retirement planning, Investment planning, Tax-efficient planning strategies, Estate planning coordination, Risk management and insurance analysis, Charitable giving strategies, Cash flow and distribution planning
  • Run projections and scenario analyses to support client decision-making
  • Monitor client progress and update recommendations as circumstances evolve
  • Assist clients in implementing planning recommendations and coordinating with outside professionals when appropriate
  • Conduct portfolio reviews and investment analyses in collaboration with the advisor team
  • Help clients make asset allocation and investment strategy decisions aligned with their goals, risk tolerance, and time horizon
  • Identify planning opportunities involving portfolio construction, taxes, withdrawals, and risk management
Client Service & Operations
  • Prepare for client meetings and provide timely, attentive follow-through
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date CRM records and planning data
  • Review client paperwork and documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Coordinate with administrative team members to execute client requests and deliver a seamless, high-touch experience
Professional Networking & Relationship Development
  • Cultivate relationships with centers of influence, including attorneys, CPAs, and other professionals
  • Participate in networking, referral, and community opportunities that support the firm’s reputation and organic growth
  • Identify opportunities to deepen client relationships and enhance the client experience
Qualifications
Required
  • 3+ years of experience in wealth management, financial planning, or a related advisory role
  • Strong working knowledge of retirement, investment, tax, and estate planning concepts
  • Ability to manage multiple client relationships and planning engagements simultaneously
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Professional presence and ability to work effectively with affluent clients
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Desire to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
  • Ability to work in Sonoma County at least three days per week
Preferred
  • Series 7 and Series 66 licenses (or equivalent)
  • Experience working with high-net-worth individuals and families
  • Experience using financial planning software such as eMoney
  • Familiarity with advisory firm operations, including account openings, transfers, distributions, and custodial processes
  • Insurance license or other advanced planning credentials
  • Comfort with professional networking and referral relationship development
