Year Up United seeks motivated interns for our Financial Advisor Training Program within the Banking, Insurance & Investment sector. As a Financial Advisor Intern, you'll build foundational skills in client service, budgeting, investing, and risk management while supporting senior advisors with research, portfolio reviews, and financial planning tasks. Responsibilities
  • Support financial advisors or supervisors with basic client intake and information gathering

  • Maintain organized and accurate client records and documentation using financial software and spreadsheets
  • Learn and apply foundational concepts in banking, insurance, and investments to real-world scenarios
  • Practice explaining basic financial products and services in clear, accessible language to mock or real clients
  • Participate in classroom-based learning on finance, professionalism, and workplace communication
  • Collaborate with peers, program staff, and employer partners on assigned projects and internship tasks
  • Follow compliance, confidentiality, and ethical guidelines as introduced by training staff and industry partners
  • Seek feedback, participate in coaching sessions, and set learning goals for skill development
  • Demonstrate professionalism, punctuality, and accountability in both classroom and internship settings
