We have an exciting and NEW opportunity in the addition of a Financial Advisor to the credit union team. We are looking for someone to take on the role of delivering investment guidance and retirement planning for individuals and businesses by providing sound advice and analysis on individual equities and fixed income instruments, managed accounts, insurance products, among others portfolio options.

This role is highly entrepreneurial and involves extensive member management and development, new member prospecting and financial consultancy.

Our ideal candidate will understand and know how to build and maintain long-term relationships with a portfolio of financially successful clients/members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage relationships with credit union members to understand their financial objectives and offer customized investment solutions.
  • Assess and provide tailored retirement planning and investment solutions, with the goal of growing and sustaining long-term returns as well as long-term client / member relationships.
  • Develop customized wealth management plan or retirement plan to address each member/ client's outlined goals and implement the plan with suitable products and services.
  • Meet with clients / members on a regular basis to review portfolio performance and to uncover unmet personal and business financial needs.
  • Work closely with third party relationship manager, shaping investment processes, making member/client-specific recommendations and developing new financial products and services.
  • Provide regular reporting and updates and information to members and senior management.
  • Take lead role in segmenting client book of business based on firm-specific criteria.
  • Conduct in-depth financial needs analysis and provide recommendations on investment products, retirement plans, insurance, and estate planning strategies.
  • Develop and sustain relationships within the community by regularly participating in local networks and events.
  • Deliver in-person assistance to members at multiple branches, either by scheduled appointments or during open office hours.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • 2 or more years working as a financial professional
  • Proven success building and maintaining customer or client relationships
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Office products, CRM usage and new account opening tools
  • Must hold current FINRA Series 7 and 66 (or 63 and 65) license and state and Insurance licenses as necessary.
  • Ability to travel to various branch locations based on client/member demand
  • Ability to work independently and use sound judgement and decision making skills
  • Must be willing and able to problem solve and train through the use of manuals and other resources

Schedule

  • Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week

Wage & Hour Details

  • Full-time
  • This is an exempt position
  • Starting pay range: $80,000-$90,000 annual, forgivable draw, variable compensation based on experience and performance
